Select the Rule Sets button within the Maintain Entitlement Generation Rules section. A rule set can be broken down into three parts. General information with a condition. This is the first part of a rule set. The general information consists of the basic details about the rule such as its name, creation date, etc. The conditions section dictates the criteria which must be fulfilled for a rule to apply. That condition is usually based on some property or attribute of a sales document. Task for Check for Entitlement checks if an entitlement is eligible to run through the rule set. Customers can customize these checks according to their business needs. They determine the specific steps the system should follow and the specific criteria it should consider. Update task allows customers to decide how certain fields should be updated if the entitlement is eligible for the rule set. This could be a static value, a value derived from the sales document, a value derived from the condition, or another system assigned value. The ability to define this ensures that the system responds correctly to each possible scenario meeting the set rules and conditions. This three-part structure, general information and conditions, checks for entitlement and update task. Creates a flexible and customizable framework within the SAP EMS, enabling businesses to automate many different types of processes and operations efficiently.

Create a rule set by opening the Configure Entitlement Master Data app. The Configuration Overview page displays multiple configuration selections on the left. Select the Rule Set menu item to begin creating a rule set. The Rule Set page displays multiple items. In this scenario, we are creating a new rule set. Select the Create button on the bottom of the page. The Create New Rule Set displays three steps for creating a rule set. Fields and selections with an asterisk require input. The general information section is where you define the rule set name and code for the new rule set. Set the priority from 0 to 5 so that the conditions cannot be met simultaneously. Priority 5 is the highest and 0 is the lowest. If the data matches the higher priority rule set, the rule set with the lower priority is not selected. For our scenario, we'll enter three as our priority. Next, enter a name in the generation rule name field. We'll select Query for Existence Before Creation. Select the Show Flow Chart button for a preview of the data flow for this rule set. Next, choose an entitlement model to configure the rule set. Under the Entitlement Model section, select the Add button to begin. The Select Entitlement Model page displays several entitlement models with their descriptions. For this scenario, we'll select the checkbox for the Entitlement Model 3D Printing Design Software. Select the Select button to continue. Let's add more entitlement models to this rule set. Use the search field to narrow down your search. After adding the entitlement models, select the Next button to maintain the rule set conditions. Rule set conditions allow you to define the scenario in which this rule set is used while generating entitlements. This rule set is triggered to process the entitlement generation rule when the incoming data matches the defined condition. Under the condition field selections, you can use either Entitlement Generation Interface or Entitlement Structure to filter the payload. We'll add another condition business event. Select the Add button to add conditions. In this scenario, under fields, we'll add Offering ID and Document Type for upstream. Also complete the Operator and Value fields. Select the Next button. Now you can view the Rule Tasks page. A Generation Rule contains multiple steps or tasks with parameters and output data. Once the Generation Process ID is selected, the corresponding process tasks are displayed. Select a Query Type. Choose between Single Results or Multiple Results. Select the Query Entitlement Model field to select an entitlement model. For example, if you wish to update the design software and subscription, select 3D Printing Design Software and Subscription for 3D Printer. For the query conditions, there are options for quick configurations for filtering conditions.  We'll select Same Customer, Same Offering, and Same Entitlement Model. Under Create New Entitlement, if you want to create entitlement records with an equal quantity, you can split the entitlement by the quantity of the subscription of the upstream document. For example, if the purchase amount is 10, specify the quantity to be split by two. This would amount to five entitlements. Under Update Existing Entitlement, select Simple Mode or Advanced Mode to update the entitlement value. This mode is defaulted to the Off position. With Advanced Mode switched off, you can choose an attribute from the selected entitlement model and replace its value with a value from the mapped entitlement. With advanced mode switched On, you can update the entitlement value based on different conditions. The new value can be constant, variable from the mapped entitlement, sales document, or the updated entitlement itself. Select the Create button, followed by the Add button. To configure the If condition, choose any fields from the sales document, mapped entitlements, and updated entitlement as a condition. For date and numeric field types, you can configure a formula as a compared value. If the license key is empty, set up the value for the to be updated entitlement. And if the license key is empty, we can set the status to Initial. Note that this status is normally defaulted to Initial. You can set multiple values inside the update task. You can also design directly as an empty value to the stream field or add a formula for multiple fields. Set up multiple conditions and conditional value assignments. After saving the If-Then clause, you can set the if field without a condition. Select the checkbox next to Without Condition and, depending on your needs, select the Copy or Edit button. For example, if the version is only available for the design software, then only the software will update the version. Select the Save button. You may select any condition for deletion.  Select the Create button to create a new rule set.  You may also copy an existing rule set and details to a new rule set. Or directly delete a rule set rule that is set from the rule set detail and the rule set list. The title bar features two views, one is the Rule Set View. The Rule Set View lists the rule set and displays the entire model subset. And there's the entitlement model view. Select the Go button and display the models with rule sets and the relevant reset configurations.
