Fit-to-Standard Analysis Process Overview from Prepare to Realize Phase
The Fit-to-Standard Analysis workshops are an essential part of making sure the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system fits the customer's needs. In these workshops, the partner line of business (LoB) configuration experts demonstrate the SAP standard business processes the customer executive sponsors have selected on the Digital Discovery Assessment to customer LoB experts who are responsible for the job tasks covered in each business process.
"Fit-to-Standard" means "fitting" or teaching the customer LoB experts how the standard business processes work in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system. The customer LoB experts are in the best position to identify small changes that may be necessary to make the system work for their requirements. We are not rebuilding entire business processes here, but we can make small changes to tailor the standard processes to what the customer requires.
It's important to remind the customer LoB experts that any change to a standard process is going to create more maintenance work for the organization through future release upgrades, so we are only looking for critical requirements that are absolutely necessary for the customer LoB experts to be able to accomplish their job tasks in SAP S/4HANA Cloud after go-live.

Important activities in the Prepare phase

- Partner LoB configuration experts identify the business processes selected and known integrations within their LoB area of expertise.

The partner lead configuration expert should address the non-LoB workshop topics, such as the Organizational Structure and Human Resources workshops. The Finance configuration expert(s) should handle the Chart of Accounts workshop.
- Partner LoB configuration experts identify the business processes selected and known integrations within their LoB area of expertise.
- Gather Business Driven Configuration Questionnaire (BDCQ) responses
- Partner LoB configuration experts complete the following:
- Contact customer project manager for support in identifying 2-4 employees within the customer's organization (LoB experts) to represent each business role covered in each business process.
- Schedule meetings with customer LoB experts to gather BDCQ responses for all business processes in your LoB area.
- Partner LoB configuration experts complete the following:
- Prepare for Fit-to-Standard Analysis workshops
- Partner LoB configuration experts complete the following:
- Group 1-3 related business processes together into individual workshops.
- Schedule workshops and invite the previously identified customer LoB experts.
- Prepare presentation deck for each workshop, including a "mini kick-off" at the beginning to give a brief overview of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition and why the customer experts' participation in workshops are essential to the outcome of the final solution.
- Download the test script for each process to be covered in workshops from SAP Signavio Process Navigator.
- Create test users for each business role involved in a business process.
- Run through each test script with the created test users in SAP S/4HANA Cloud starter system prior to workshops to verify everything is working as expected.

- Partner LoB configuration experts complete the following for each business process:
- Demonstrate where to find documentation (process flow, test script, tutorial) in SAP Signavio Process Navigator.
- Demonstrate the business process in the starter system following the test script procedures.
- Discuss process fit with customer LoB experts.
- Document customization requirements in SAP Cloud ALM for the business process.
- Gather remaining BDCQ configuration values.
- Gather perceived change impact feedback from customer LoB experts and discuss with Change Management Team.
- Partner LoB configuration experts provide test user and starter system login information.
- Customer LoB experts log into starter system and test processes they saw demonstrated in their workshops independently.
Important activities in the Realize phase
- Implement Configurations and Customizations in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Development System tenants
- Activate business process content and enter configuration values in SAP Central Business Configuration.
- Find resolutions to customization requirements identified during workshops.
- Make customizations in the development system tenant(s) and close each requirement in SAP Cloud ALM as they are resolved.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Sign-off
- Partner LoB configuration experts set up manual test cases in SAP Cloud ALM.
- Partner LoB configuration experts invite customer LoB experts that participated in Fit-to-Standard workshops to complete UAT of configured and customized business processes.
- Customer LoB experts document formal sign-off of test cases in SAP Cloud ALM.
