Tricentis Test Automation for SAP includes test case authoring for automated tests, test data services, and support for all UIs and APIs in SAP products. Efficient test automation relies on API testing in modern agile cloud environments. The inclusion of a test recorder for non-technical business users is crucial, and the powerful authoring environment allows adjustments without code level scripting that enables collaboration between business users and test coordinators. In addition, the automated test cases are robust and resistant to change in UIs.

Integration of the existing ALM platforms SAP Solution Manager and SAP Cloud ALM with Tricentis Test Automation for SAP is done through their open interfaces. Both ALM platforms already have Test Management capabilities, including test planning and preparation, test orchestration and reporting, manual testing, defect management, and exploratory testing. Tricentis Test Automation for SAP can be integrated in all these areas to allow the tools to complement each other, while focusing on their individual strengths: SAP's ALM platforms for test management and Tricentis for the execution of automated tests. SAP's ALM platforms remain in control as the overall orchestrator of the application lifecycle. SAP's ALM platforms will remain open for other third-party test automation integration.

If Tricentis has not been set-up in the customer's SAP Cloud ALM system, there will be an app in the Administration section titled, Set Up Tricentis Test Automation for SAP. This app is a wizard that guides you through the steps to activate Tricentis Test Automation in the customer's Cloud ALM system.
