Commercialization Overview

Metric and SizingĀ

The license relevant usage of SAP Self-Billing Cockpit is measured by the number of self-billing document line items received and created in the productive accounts of the cloud solution. The number of self-billing line items is based on the received items in a self-billing document transmitted from the buyer. In the case of Self-Billing with Automatic Posting (SBWAP), the reference document items determined at internal supplier side are counted in addition.

Diagram illustrating the process of self-billing transmission. On the left, an envelope icon represents the self-billing transmission. An arrow points to a computer screen on the right, indicating the receipt of self-billing line items. The received items are listed as Self-Billing Line Item A, B, and C. Additionally, for SBWAP only, Self-Billing Line Item D is created, as noted in the Customer Information Sheet. Below, an arrow points down to a note stating that the vast majority of self-billing line items can serve as a basis for your estimate.

License relevant usage value is established as the cumulative number of documents in the productive tenant per contract year. SAP Self-Billing Cockpit is priced on a per-block-per-year basis. Each block corresponds to 12,000 documents, which are records of commercial transactional data managed through the cloud service. To avail of this service, a minimum order quantity of 15 blocks is required with a minimum contract duration of one year. The pricing structure ensures that users have the flexibility to scale their usage based on their specific requirements. The plan for SAP Self-Billing Cockpit includes one productive tenant and one test tenant. These tenants offer segregated environments that allow users to separate their production and testing activities.

Hint

For more detailed metering information, refer to the Customer Information Sheet.

If you are currently planning your implementation of SAP Self-Billing Cockpit, sizing your subscription is one of the decisions to make. While the factors influencing each customer's usage are different, and license relevant usage depends on the number of self-billing transactions in the future, your self-billing volume in the past can be a good starting point. If you are already using self-billing in SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA and you want to make an estimate for sizing your SAP Self-Billing Cockpit subscription, analyzing the following objects in your system can be helpful:

  • For SBWAP customers using self-billing functionalities in SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA already, you can find out the number of line items by checking table, VSBITM.
  • For SBINV customers, you may check the invoice types, (FXS, FXL, FXG), to estimate the number of items.
