Setting up the SAP Cloud Connector

The SAP BTP Connector serves as the link between SAP Service and Asset Manager App in the SAP BTP and back-end SAP ERP or SAP S/4 HANA system.

SAP Service and Asset Manager requires principle propagation. Principle propagation is necessary to properly perform data distribution and authorization checks in the SAP back-end system.

There are many tutorials and documentation available on how to install and configure SAP Cloud Connector. We recommend using the standard documentation to guide through comprehensive SAP Cloud Connector setup. The following list shows some useful links to get you started:

There are a few key requirements when setting up SAP Cloud Connector for SAP Service and Asset Manager:

  • HTTP Configuration: BTP Mobile Services communicates with SAP back-end system using HTTP/OData service.

  • Principle Propagation: Principle propagation to an ABAP system must be configured.

  • Certificate User Mapping in the hABAP system: X.509 certificate must be mapped to named user in SAP ABAP system.
