Example: Add external_code into EMPLOYEECLASS picklist.
The employeeclass external_code maintained in picklist will be used to map to employee group key of EC Payroll during employee replication process.
*Key mapping detail is covered in EC Payroll configuration steps in the later slides.
As per the table below, EmployeeClass "Employee" has external_code "M" maintained and this external_code will get transferred over to EC Payroll for mapping.

Please check Define Mapping Code Value Lists before creating picklists.
For the mapping please consider: Employee Central codes that are longer than 10 characters are cut off during replication and only the first 10 characters are available for mapping in the EC Payroll system. Picklist entries must be in CAPITAL LETTERS and/or Numbers (0, 1, 2, 3….9).
You need to create and upload the relevant picklists for the following Employee Central HRIS fields:
- payScaleType
- payScaleArea
- employment-type
- employee-class
- processType (Direct Deposit: using values B = bonus, E = expenses, P = payroll)
- STATE_XXX (where XXX represents the relevant ISO country code) in employee address, for example STATE_USA)
- For most countries, you must assign a picklist for STATE (or the equivalent in the related country such as COUNTY or REGION) in the address details.
- accountType (SG = Savings, 03 = Checking)
- salutation (optional)
- ecMaritalStatus (optional)
