Understanding the Master Data and Transaction Data Flow

The first step of the integration project is for you to investigate and fully understand the data flow for both master data and transaction data. You want to know exactly where the source data that you will use is stored in SAP S/4HANA and where it will be stored once it's imported to SAP Analytics Cloud. In SAP S/4HANA, source master data is stored in dimensions, and the transaction data is stored in the following tables: Actual accounting data, Plan accounting data, and Actual and Plan consolidation data. You will use an SAP S/4HANA connection to import all of the required master data. The SAP S/4HANA connection is also used to import accounting transaction data. On the other hand, an OData connection is used to import the group reporting transaction data. All imports use CDS Views as a pass through. The imported master data is stored in SAP Analytics Cloud Dimensions and the transaction data is stored in SAP Analytics Cloud Planning Models. Once created, the forecast transaction data is published in the same models. Plan accounting and group reporting data is exported from SAP Analytics Cloud to SAP S/4HANA using the same SAP S/4HANA connection and an API service.
