General Capabilities for Analytics

The following possibilities for analytics are available in SAP S/4HANA:

  • SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics: This is a real-time analytics solution that is embedded within the SAP S/4HANA system. It provides users with instant access to operational data and advanced analytics capabilities to drive better decision making. The basic functions include real-time reporting, predictive analytics, and data visualization.
  • SAP S/4HANA Analytics Cloud: This is a cloud-based analytics solution that integrates with SAP S/4HANA to provide advanced reporting and analytics capabilities. It enables users to create interactive dashboards, perform advanced analytics, and collaborate with colleagues in real-time. The basic functions include self-service reporting, predictive analytics, and data blending from multiple sources.
  • SAP S/4HANA CDS Views: Core Data Services (CDS) views in SAP S/4HANA provide a simplified and standardized way to define and consume complex data models. CDS views are used to define semantic data models for analytical and transactional applications. The basic functions include defining and consuming data models, creating virtual data models, and enabling real-time reporting and analytics.

The basic functions include predictive modeling, machine learning algorithms, and decision support.

Procurement Overview Page

The Procurement Overview page enables business users to perform their daily tasks quickly and effectively without the need to open many different reports and transactions.

All the relevant information is shown on a single page - visualized attractively and efficiently on actionable cards for multiple types of content. The user-friendly experience makes viewing, filtering, and acting upon data simple, faster and smarter - even on mobile devices.

Analytical List Pages

Analytical list pages are also provided to monitor purchase contract items, supplier confirmation, and purchase order items.

The purchaser views a high-level overview of important information, such as expiring contracts, overdue purchase orders, or urgent purchase requisitions, as well as an overview of different procurement KPIs. With these KPIs, the purchaser can easily determine the performance of suppliers, monitor non-managed spend or purchasing spend, and quickly discover trends and potential areas of improvement.

Examples for Real-Time Reporting and Monitoring for Procurement

There are several predefined Apps for Real-Time Reporting available that can be used out of the box.

Some available Apps are:

Procurement Overview:

The Procurement Overview shows, at a glance, the most important information and tasks relevant for you right now. The information is displayed on set of actionable cards. You can therefore focus on the most important tasks, enabling faster decisions and immediate action.

The cards show you the most important information ranked according to relevance.

Overdue Purchase Order Items:

With this app, you can analyze the delivery dates of the purchase orders sent to the supplier. The KPI compares the actual date with the delivery date on item level. All purchase order items for which delivery date has passed and which have not yet been delivered are calculated. You can also use this app to analyze the delivery dates of purchase order items sent to the supplier.

Purchasing Group Activities:

This app displays all the purchase orders, contracts, goods receipts, and scheduling agreements against a particular purchasing group and category for a given time frame. Only those business documents that are completed and items not released are considered. Deleted items are not considered. The app also helps to calculate the number of goods receipts for a particular purchase order and item, as well as the total invoice amount and purchase order net amount.
