Identifying the Purpose of Profile Workers

In addition to Contingent and Services, there is a third category of external worker in SAP Fieldglass; one that is considered non-transactional, which means they do not use time sheets, expense sheets, or any type of invoicing through the system. In fact, there is no spend associated with this type of worker at all! Within SAP Fieldglass, this third category of worker is called Profile Worker. Typically, buyers will utilize Profile Workers for simple headcount tracking and reporting purposes.

The Profile Worker feature allows buyers to track workers who are not tied to a job posting, work order, or SOW in SAP Fieldglass.

Workers tracked under this category are distinct from Contingent and Services workers in that they often aren’t paid for or directly engaged by the organization that is tracking them.

The Profile Worker module in SAP Fieldglass is designed to track external workers who will not be invoiced through the application. While they aren't directly tied to work orders or SOWs, having their profiles in a buyer’s tenant offers several benefits:

• Improved Visibility: By centralizing information on all workers, transactional and non-transactional, buyer’s gain a clearer picture of their total external workforce.
• Comprehensive Reporting: The Profile Worker module allows for the creation of reports that include a buyer’s entire external workforce.
• Stronger Security: Profile workers can be assigned security IDs, which helps control access to facilities and systems, improving overall security.

In essence, the Profile Worker module acts like a central database for non-billable external workers, providing a way to track and manage them for better visibility, control, and compliance.
