Setting Access Control
Access Control values can either allow or restrict the users who can view the content. If you do not set any access controls on a guided sourcing project, all users of the solution can access it.
To access a folder, document, task, or even event item, users must also be able to access the project that contains it and any parent objects in the project. For example, to access a document in a folder, a user must be able to access the project and folder that contains the document.
Procedure
A Project Owner can set access controls by performing one of the following actions:
- To set access controls for a project, on the Overview area of the project’s Overview tab, choose Actions, Edit Overview.
- To set access controls for a document, select the document title on the project’s Events and other documents panel and choose Edit Attributes.

From the Access Control menu, choose Select More. Select the access controls you want to apply to the project or document and then choose Done. The View Details option will preview the users that qualify, then select Save.
Helpful Access Controls
- In most cases, you will want to set a project's access control to Private to Team Members. This restricts access to the project and all folders, documents, and tasks in the project so that only the team members view these items.
- Classified applies to the Classified Access group in addition to:
- Contract Manager
- Internal Contract Manager
- Sales Contract Manager
- Sourcing Manager
- Supplier or Customer Manager
- Internal Users
- Owner/Administrator Only applies only to members of the Project Owner project group and users with project owner capabilities.
The descriptions of the access control can be found in the Access Control selection search:
