Transfer postings create journal entries with a dedicated document type that transfer selected balance sheet amounts and open items from the old profit center to the new profit center.
Account balances are transferred based on the level of detail of account assignments in the balance carryforward.
Opening balances on the day before the effective date are reposted with one journal entry per company code and ledger. These transfer postings have a posting date equal to effective date and the business transaction type (field BTTYPE) is OCTP (Organizational Change Transfer Posting).
Account movements with a posting date on or after the effective date are transferred with one journal entry per company code, ledger, and posting date. These transfer postings have the business transaction type OCCP (Organizational Change Correction Posting).
Open items in customer, supplier, or selected G/L accounts are transferred from the old profit center to the new profit center.
All items that are open one day before the effective date. The posting date of the transfer posting is the effective date and the business transaction type is OCTP
All items that are posted with a posting date on or after the effective date. The posting date of the transfer posting is the posting date of the item and the business transaction type is OCCP.

The transfer postings can be identified in table ACDOCA by the entries in the fields:
- Business Transaction Type,
- Predecessor Journal Entry Document & Item for open item transfers,
- Organizational Change Id,
- Posting Date = Effective date,
- Document Type (from Configuration),
- Consolidation Transaction types (from Configuration).
