Managing Products in the Backoffice Product Cockpit

As a Product Manager,  Milly works with multiple products each day,  uploading,  editing, and approving product data. She can use various filters when she searches for a product.  In this video,  we’ll look at the search and filter options available in the Backoffice Product Cockpit.  In the Cockpit,  Milly clicks on the Search bar,  which expands when she clicks on the magnifying glass icon.   In the expanded text entry box,  she can enter a product’s name,  article number,  or product code.   She can even enter the name of a catalog,  or one of its versions,  such as Staged or Online.   As she types in the box,  the system suggests search terms that match what she has entered so far.  For example,  Milly enters apparel in the box.   When she types at least three letters,  the system automatically suggests applicable search words that begin with those letters.  There are other filters that she can apply to narrow down her search.   To specify them,  she clicks the funnel icon and selects,  Add more filters.  Here,  she accepts the default Attribute selection,  Article Number.   The Comparator field offers different types of comparisons.  To look for a product number, she selects the contains Comparator. In the Value field,  she enters the Product Code.  She has the option of adding more filters.  After clicking Add more filters, again,  she selects the Attribute Identifier.  Since identifier is a localized attribute,  she selects the desired language.  The Value defaults here to en,  which stands for English. In the text field, she enters Powershot. Once she has defined the filters,  she clicks Apply. The product or products she's looking for are displayed.  If she wants to export the search results,  she can click the Export Excel icon.  The products’ data is exported as an Excel sheet.  When she tries looking for another product,  the search doesn’t return anything.  She must first clear the existing filters and click Apply.   Now,  when she types the new product name,  the search returns items.  Remember to check if filters are active whenever the search functionality  doesn't return the desired results.  Using the search box and filter options effectively,  Milly quickly locates the products she’s looking for.
