"Thanks, Marco! I think we covered some good information on catalogs so far. Is there any other feature I should know about?"

"I would like to mention catalog syndication at this point. It is a feature that allows buyers to integrate catalog data from an SAP ERP to SAP Business Network via the Cloud Integration Gateway. Catalog data can be extracted from Purchase Info Records (PIRs) and Material Master records to create catalog items in a CIF file and send it to the SAP Business Network and SAP Ariba Procurement solutions. Users can search and buy across standard catalogs in one interface."
Note
SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway provides a simple and efficient Integration-as-a-Service (IaaS) solution. SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway facilitates the integration of buyers' SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA systems with Ariba Network and SAP Ariba solutions.
Creating a catalog file from an SAP ERP allows buyers to:
- Readily purchase orders from being canceled or put on hold due to unavailability of items
- Allow direct purchase on SAP ERP
- Prevent purchase orders from being canceled or put on hold due to unavailability of items
- Support creation of the CIF items in multiple languages
