Describing Methods for Starting Supplier Registrations

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to describe the methods available for starting supplier registrations

Methods for Starting a Supplier Registration

Depending on your site's configuration and the particular supplier, there are several different methods for starting a registration:

Registration MethodRegistration Type
Manually by a registration managerExternal or internal
Automatically whenever a supplier request is approved, if the self-service site configuration parameter Automatically start supplier registrations is enabled in your siteExternal
Through a mass invitation wave, which an administrator can create to onboard a specific set of suppliers at one timeExternal

(In sites that include SAP Ariba Sourcing)

Automatically whenever an uninvited supplier is invited to a sourcing event that requires a registration status of at least Invited, if not higher, to participate in the event

External

(In sites that include SAP Ariba Sourcing)

Automatically when a previously uninvited supplier attempts to participate in a sourcing event if your site requires a minimum status of Registered to participate

External

You can bypass the registration process by manually choosing the Set Registered option in the Registration detail area of a supplier's profile. This option eliminates the need to invite suppliers to complete a registration form or for you to complete it on their behalf so they can attain the status of Registered.

This course will teach you to manually start external and internal registrations and use the Set Registered option.
