Describing the Standalone Modular Questionnaire Process

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to describe the standalone modular questionnaire process in SAP Ariba Supplier Management.

Modular Questionnaire Project Templates

Modular questionnaire project templates define the questionnaires and workflows your organization uses to collect and maintain specific sets of information about suppliers or engagement risk. Administrators can create multiple modular supplier management templates in your site, one for each questionnaire.

These templates include several configuration options to support different workflows and uses for the questionnaire, including:

  • Ability to reuse the same questionnaire project in multiple contexts or to create a new questionnaire project for each new use
  • Capability to allow updates to the questionnaire or to use it for one-time snapshot data collection
  • Optional internal forms to gather information from internal users in the project and to aggregate ratings from internal users
  • Features for managing supplier certificates

Modular Questionnaire Personas

In this training, a persona represents a user type who might use SAP Ariba Supplier Management solutions similarly. We categorize individuals into personas based on how and when their job role is involved in the supplier management process.

Since modular questionnaires can collect information at various stages in the supplier lifecycle, the personas that use them can differ. Supplier managers, category managers, risk managers, and other individuals might create modular questionnaire projects. The personas responding to modular questionnaires can also vary and could include suppliers or business users.

This course teaches you how to use standalone modular questionnaires within the context of supplier certificate management. The following personas may be involved in the process of managing supplier certificates:

  • Supplier manager
  • Supplier

Let’s meet the people who represent these personas:

Headshots of supplier manager Amy Chen and supplier Carmen Vega.

Supplier Manager

Amy Chen is a supplier manager at the buying organization NSM Global. She’s responsible for onboarding suppliers and keeping their profile information current, which includes collecting and maintaining supplier certificates.

Supplier

Carmen Vega is a client relationship manager at Intellitech Direct, a supplier organization. She responds to information-gathering questionnaires, such as those requesting certificate data, on behalf of her company.

Standalone Modular Questionnaire Process Example

The standalone modular questionnaire process involves five key steps:

  1. A user invites suppliers to respond to standalone questionnaires.
  2. Suppliers respond to the questionnaires.
  3. Approvers make approval decisions for the questionnaires.
  4. Suppliers update their responses to the questionnaires as needed.
  5. Approvers make approval decisions for the questionnaire updates.

The specific activities performed in each step and the individuals who complete them depend on how individual modular questionnaire project templates are set up in your site.

In this video, you’ll learn about the standalone modular questionnaire process through the lens of supplier certificate management.
