Single-Code Coupon

Hello, let me show you how to create a single code coupon in Backoffice administration cockpit.  I will first log into the backoffice as admin. By default, the password for admin is nimda.  Now I navigate to Marketing, Coupon Management, and finally Coupons.  Instead of clicking on the plus icon directly, I will choose the single code coupon from the coupon subtypes.  Let us say I want to create a black Friday sale coupon. Here, I will fill in the only necessary property, namely the Coupon Code itself.  Then, I hit finish to create the coupon first, then either click on the notification’s coupon code or search for the coupon code and edit it directly. I will type in a simple name as the description for the coupon.  I will keep the value 1 here so that every customer can only use this coupon one time.  So, how many times should this coupon be redeemable in total? The default 100 is a bit too few, I will increase it and put 10000.  Since this is for the black Friday sale, it should happen around the 24th of November.  I will choose the one week before and after the 24th November to give more flexibility to the customers.  Finally, I activate the coupon. Even though it's active now, the coupon will only work between the specified start and end dates.  I'll click on Save to keep my changes. Please note, to use the coupon I will need to create a promotion which contains the coupon as a condition. This will be shown in the next lesson.  That's it for a simple demo for creating a single code coupon. Thank you for watching.

Multi-Code Coupon

Hello, let me show you how to create a multi code coupon in Backoffice.  First, I will log into backoffice as admin. By default, password for admin is nimda.   Then I navigate to Marketing, Coupon Management, and finally Coupons.  From the coupon subtypes, I will choose the multi code coupon.  There are 2 mandatory properties I need to fill here. The first one is the coupon code generation configuration.  I will use the default configuration for now. The second property is the prefix for all the coupon codes  which will be generated based on the setting of the multi code coupon.  Let us say I am creating a multi code coupon for the upcoming summer sale event of my store. So, I am putting SUMMER as the prefix. I will hit finish to create the coupon first then either click on the notification’s coupon code, or search for the coupon code and edit it directly.  I type in a simple name as the description for the coupon.  For the code generation configuration, instead of using the default one, I am going to create a new one.  I will give the name for the generation configuration.  The code separator is used to separate parts of the coupon codes.  I will use underscore instead. Then I set the coupon part count as 3, so that besides the prefix,  there will be 3 parts of coupon codes generated. I keep the length of each coupon part as 4 as it’s commonly used.  I could have kept the start and end validity dates empty, so that the coupon could be active at any time.  However, since this is for the summer sale,  I will set the validity period to the summer months of the year.  Finally, I will activate the coupon. Even though it's active now, the coupon will only work between the specified start and end dates.  Before I can use a multi code coupon, I’ll need to generate the redeemable coupon codes. To do that, I click on Save to keep my progress.  Then I enter the number of coupons I want, for example                                                          1000 and then the I hit the Generate button, to save one more time.  That's it,  I can now download a list of generated coupon codes by clicking this button here.  Now let us look at the coupons. Here they are, 1000 unique coupon codes generated according to my coupon code  generation configuration, and each of them can be redeemed only one time.  Please note, to use the coupon, I will need to create a promotion which contains the coupon as a condition.  This will be shown in the next lesson. That's it for a simple demo for creating a multi code coupon.  Thank you for watching.
