Modernizing Integration with SAP Integration Suite

Hello everyone, I'm Shilpa Vij and let's move on where we will learn about consolidating and transforming business processes across heterogeneous landscapes. In today's rapidly evolving digital landscapes, businesses require robust and flexible solutions to seamlessly integrate various systems and drive innovations. SAP Integrations Suite stands out as the holistic platform for your integration and innovation needs. It offers a highly flexible, comprehensive, hybrid, and modern platform designed to integrate cloud applications, be it SAP or non-SAP, connecting on-premise systems or facilitating data exchange between partners in real time. It enables your business processes to take API-centric and event-driven approach to run effortlessly across diverse environments. With pre-built accelerators, third-party connectors, and AI assistance, customers can achieve faster time-to-value. It also facilitates low-code development. As business navigates the complexities of digital transformation, it is paramount to ensure that existing investments in SAP Process Integration, PI, and Process Orchestration, PO, remains relevant and effective. If you have existing investments in PIPO, we safeguard them by providing you with migration tools, accelerators, and end-to-end monitoring to transition to the cloud. As discussed in previous slides, SAP Integration Suite on SAP BTP is SAP's comprehensive, versatile, hybrid, and enterprise-grade integration platform covering all integration styles and landscapes. You have already learned about SAP Integration Suite capabilities in previous lessons, and for this lesson, let's focus on the tools we offer as part of the suite to help you as customers in your journey moving from SAP Process Orchestration to SAP Integration Suite while having the option to run on-premise integration scenarios in your landscapes. Migration Assessment and the Migration Tool estimates the migration effort for SAP Process Orchestration scenarios and automate the migration itself based on the integration flow pattern. We will learn in detail about these accelerators when we move to the system demos. Edge Integration Cell is the new hybrid integration runtime offered as an optional extension to SAP Integration Suite, enabling customers to run their API-led integration scenarios within customer managed private landscapes. Key benefits include, first, managing APIs and running integration scenario within your private environments on Kubernetes. Second, data compliance and governance by processing data locally. Third, customer managed operation that includes installation, software upgrades, et cetera. Fourth, Integration Studio for designing and monitoring integration content in the cloud. But with Edge Integration Cell, you can deploy and run your integration content in your private landscapes too. Fifth, it enables design and management of APIs with policies. Sixth, you can configure and manage multiple cells with an SAP Integration Suite tenant. Last but not least, it elevates migration path for SAP Process Orchestration customers. A quick note, we are trying to come up with providing business continuity during temporary connectivity loss, up to four hours. As of the recording of this course, it's in our roadmap. To make the transition from SAP Process Orchestration or Process Integration to SAP Integration Suite as efficient as possible, we offer Migration Accelerator that will help to accelerate and modernize their journey to the cloud. To start with, we have guides and best practices. You can learn from our best practices and guidelines compiled by our product experts. You can automatically assess. It helps you estimate the technical efforts involved in the migration processes and evaluates how various integration scenarios can be migrated. Semi-automatic migration. The migration wizard embedded in cloud integration will automatically create iFlus in integration suite based on design time artifacts in SAP process orchestration, based on current scenarios supported through a pattern based approach. As mentioned in previous slides, you can use Edge Integration Cell for ground-to-ground use cases. Last but not least, SAP has worked with partners like InfoRANFIGAF to provide our SAP Process Orchestration customers with free use of their test automation tools during the duration of the migration project to SAP Indication Suite, up to a maximum of 12 months. Any continued use of the test tools for ongoing testing or other capabilities beyond migration project would require a license from the partners. We have lately published the pipeline concept for cloud integration as part of the migration guide for SAP Process Orchestration. This can be seen as another building block supporting you in your transition to the cloud. The pipeline concept allows you to set up your asynchronous integration scenarios in cloud integration, similarly to how messages are processed in SAP Process orchestration, while in the same time reducing the number of GMS queues. Key benefits include, first, decoupling and exactly once processing for asynchronous processing. Second, simplifies operations by separating errors into different generic queues separated by routing, mapping, and receiver backend delivery. Third, provides dynamic configuration to process messages individually using partner directory. Fourth, requires a lower number of GMS queues to respect the limit of an integration suite tenant, thereby simplifying operations. Fifth, allows reusability of artifacts across multiple flows by using a generic concept. Let me highlight a few recent innovations as of this course recording. The first one, migration tool, has moved from template-based approach to a pattern-based approach in cloud integration. Second, modernization recommendations are now available in migration assessment. Third, creation of reusable message mappings, import of message mappings with supported and unsupported function libraries. And fourth, Red Hat OpenShift is now supported with the 8.17 version of Edge Integration Cell. In summary, when you are planning your move, think strategically, invest in standard solutions that support you, start new projects on SAP Integration Suite, stop further investments in process integration or process orchestration, or even cloud integration on SAP BTP Neo environment. Keep in mind that lift and shift is not your best option. Second, start simple. Choose easier migration scenarios to gain experience. Consider pre-built integration maintained by SAP on api.sap.com. Consider building APIs and using events. Third, scale confidently, approach more complex scenarios, highly customized code incentive, ground to ground, business to business and mission critical scenarios at the end.
