The Issue Management Process

Issue creation
  • A user becomes aware of a potential issue with an engagement or one of its required controls and creates an issue
  • User fills out issue details
Issue definition
  • The issue assignee and/or owners of issue definition tasks edit the issue to provide more detailed information and complete assigned tasks
Issue analysis
  • The issue assignee and/or owners of issue analysis tasks review the issue details, add or update information if necessary, complete assigned tasks, and may propose resolutions
Issue resolution
  • The issue assignee and owners of issue resolution tasks review the issue details, complete assigned tasks, and propose or finalize its resolution
Issue resolution acceptance
  • Task owners complete any other tasks related to issue resolution acceptance
  • Approvers review the issue resolution and approve or deny it
