Navigating the Configuration Environment

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to access and use the Configure Your Solution app.

Introduction

In this lesson, we will discuss the Configure Your Solution option in the Manage Your Solution SAP Fiori app.

The Configure Your Solution option is SAP’s guided configuration environment for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. It allows customers to adapt SAP Best Practices to their organizational needs. It is the main entry point for maintaining settings in SAP EHS Management, environment management.

Key Use Cases

  • Maintain technical identifiers and number ranges.
  • Customize form layouts and reporting behaviors.
  • Set up waste permit structures and classifier types.

Access and Use the Configure Your Solution Option

Prerequisite: Business Role: BR_BPC_EXPERT

Step 1: Launch the Manage Your Solution App

  1. In the SAP Fiori Launchpad, navigate to the Business Process Configuration area.
  2. Open the Manage Your Solution app.The screenshot shows the Mange Your Solution app.
  3. Choose Configure Your Solution.The screenshot shows the Configure Your Solution option.

Step 2: Filter by Application Area

Isolate SAP EHS Management, environment management activities as follows:

  1. Open the Application Area drop-down list, and select Asset Management. The screenshot shows the selected Asset Management option in the Application Area drop-down list.
  2. In the filtered activity list, find items with the following sub application areas:
    • Environment, Health, and Safety
    • Environment Management

Step 3: Locate the Correct Configuration Entry

In the filtered activity list, look for configuration items with the following descriptions:

Configuration Items

Item NameShort Description
Foundation for EHSMake settings for foundational technical identifiers.
Environment ManagementMake settings for environment management processes.

Step 4: Execute Configuration Activity

  1. Choose the activity name (e.g., "Environment Management").

    The detail page opens.

  2. Choose Configure.

    A new tab opens, showing the editable configuration screen.

  3. Enter or adjust values (e.g., number ranges, codes, identifiers).
  4. Choose Save.
  5. Close the tab and return to the activity list.

Summary

You should now be able to:

  • Configure SAP EHS Management, environment management in the Configure Your Solution option in the Manage Your Solution SAP Fiori app, not in SAP Central Business Configuration.
  • Filter the activity list by the Asset Management application area, then select Environment Management under Sub Application Area.
  • Each item allows you to adjust SAP-delivered defaults, such as number ranges, forms, or regulatory mappings.
