Joule is an AI-powered solution that delivers a copilot experience through natural language processing. It assists you with various tasks across SAP SuccessFactors products by recognizing transactional patterns and responding to your requests with real-time information. Joule enables you to automate tasks and complete them directly through a conversational user interface.

Prerequisite, Initial, and Booster Setup

Master the essential prerequisites before you get started setting up Joule with SAP SuccessFactors

SAP BTP Account with Joule (das-application):

Verify your entitlements in your SAP BTP Global Account. If you have an SAP SuccessFactors license and the Joule entitlement is missing, contact your SAP Account Executive.
Register your SAP SuccessFactors System in SAP BTP Global Account using SAP BTP System Landscape – formations.

SAP Build Work Zone, Standard Edition:

Joule leverages the navigation service component of SAP Build Work Zone, Standard Edition, to resolve intent-based navigation targets and configure additional content providers. In case you do not have the Standard Plan, once you sign up for Joule, all customers will be provided the Foundation Plan for Joule setup.

SAP SuccessFactors License:

Ensure you have a valid SAP SuccessFactors license and understand the Data Centers supported by Joule as listed in the help portal.

SAP Cloud Identity Services:

Log in to the Viewing Assigned Tenants and Administrators to verify your active tenants. If you're new to this topic, refer to the SAP Discovery Center Mission - Get Started with SAP BTP - Cloud Identity Service Provider (SAP IdP).

Configure User Identification:

Set the assertion attribute user_uuid to the Global User ID field in the Identity Authentication application corresponding to your subaccount. This will enable user identification based on the Global User ID.
