The features help you track the progress of your sustainability goals and make data-driven decisions to improve your sustainability performance over time.</p><p tabindex="0">Follow these steps to add a new ambition.</p><ol><li tabindex="0">Open Our Ambitions in the Steering group from the SAP Fiori launchpad.</li><li tabindex="0">Select Add Ambition to add a new ambition. In this demonstration, you will see how to create targets' ambitions. Let's assume we want to check the performance for one of our KPIs. For example, for location-based scope 2 cross emissions, we have enabled the KPI in the Manage Metrics app, so it appears on the Launchpad, and we have uploaded actuals for it until December 2023. So, the amount of 81.8 tons represents the actuals for the last period for which there is data, data, that is, December 2023. To see the trend in the R Ambitions app, we still need to upload targets for it. If we check the R Ambitions app for this metric, we can see the blue line that represents the actual data that has been uploaded for the entire year of 2023, but there is no target data yet. So, drilling down will not show the relevant information. The app notifies us that there are missing targets. As you can see here, we only have actuals for the region of America's because our plant is in the U.S. Let's start by uploading targets. To upload targets we need to go to the data management and integration section and from here to the manage ESG data app. There are two tabs. We need to move to the metrics targets tab to search for the metric. So what What we will do first is to export a template. There are two options. You can either export an empty template, that is a CSV file, or export a template where sample data already exists. This will give you an idea of what to upload and how it should look like. In this case, the data is already prepared and we can directly move to the Import from File button. Now we can see the structure of the CSV represented here in the columns, and for which we have entered data. So for example, we have the business location, my plant 1710 here. Next we will need to validate the data. Once the validation is complete, we can continue with publishing the data. This will make the data available across SAP Sustainability Control Tower. We don't have to do this process all in one go. We can interrupt it and come back to it later. The time for upload depends on the size of the CSV. Next, we will publish this data. You can now see a green status published, and 170 records have been made available across the solution. As the next step, we can go back to the R Ambitions app and check the trends. We have two options to navigate to the RMVisions app. We can either directly select the KPI if we have enabled the KPI tile in the Manage Metrics app, or we can navigate to the Section Steering, and enter the app from here. Here we can see all metrics for which we have enabled ambitions in the Manage Metrics app. We can see how the metric gross GHG emissions, Scope-2 location-based, has been configured, and we can modify this configuration. In this case, we want the metric value in tons to decrease by 50% by the year 2025. At the moment, the trend in this overview page only shows actuals data, and we can see the reason for this by drilling down into the uploaded data. For demonstration purposes, we have not added target data to the world region or to the country, only the business location. 1710 is available in the CSV file and that reflects the data we have uploaded in the Manage ESG data. We have some filters at the top and the last month for which there is data available is pre-selected and the year drop down shows all years for which there is actual data available. So in our case we are interested in the year 2023 and in this window we can quickly see the statistics, for example the target deviation and percent. We can also see that we are currently off track as is shown by the red color indication as well as the label. The variance to a previous period always only takes into account the previous year, even if there is data available for 2021, in this case. To see the variance to the previous year, we must upload actual data by choosing one of the available forms of import. From this graph, we can see at one glance that the lines for actuals and targets converge the more the year progresses, whereas the discrepancy between actuals and targets is highest in February. The performance has improved by August. Recall that our ambition goal should be reached by the year 2025. So, we still have ample time to improve further and to be on track. From the drop down at the top, we can change the period granularity. For example, we can choose the granularity of quarter, which then displays the performance aggregated to the granularity of quarters.
