You have now learned about the SAP Sales Cloud, from uncovering features and functions to preparing for the implementation project by creating and managing business roles, managing master data, configuring personalization and extensions, and integrating mobile devices. Now we’re going to look at Reports and Analytics.
The goals of Analytics and Reporting are:
To better understand your business
Make decisions based on key metrics
Improve the business over time in a measurable way
To create reports using the data collected from your contracts to understand them better and make improvements.
In SAP Sales and Service Cloud, analytics are integrated into the solution to support and monitor business processes, helping you to make informed decisions. The analytics data in the solution is real-time, and there is no persistency in a separate Business Warehouse layer.
The three primary types of analytics features you'll work with are:
- Standard reports and KPIs shipped with the solution
- Custom reports you create
- Interactive dashboards you assemble
Some of the configuration settings to consider when implementing the solution include:
- Whether or not you want to be able to assign reports to business roles in addition to the standard work center assignment.
- Whether you want to see actual data rather than test data when creating and reviewing your custom reports.
Let’s look at how to run and personalize a report.
Here are some key definitions when working with Reports.
Glossary
Here's a sample dashboard. It contains up to 8 widgets. Some widgets are dynamic, which means when you click on them, it will provide you with additional information. This dashboard provides you with the latest sales information for each sales rep.
Stories are what you would traditionally consider reports. Stories can be specifically configured for your business needs, or you can use the 20 out-of-the-box stories the solution provides.
You can choose which data source you want to explore. Once in the story, you’ll see every aspect of that data source. For example, this story is related to sales pipeline data. Here you can view many reports related to the sales pipeline, expand the reports, and export the reports.

KPIs, or Key Performance Indicators, are figures that measure the success of day-to-day business activities, such as expected values, sales targets, and average sales cycle times. Preconfigured KPIs come with the solution, and there is also the ability to create new KPIs and assign them to business roles.
