After completing this lesson, you will be able to set up approval processes for business objects
Workflow Process
Let’s learn about the workflow process in SAP Marketing Cloud:
The user, normally a marketing expert, submits an approval request for a campaign.
The approver, normally a marketing manager, receives an email that contains a link to the approval request. The approver can also see a notification for the approval request in the notifications area.
The approver (marketing manager) can approve or reject the request in the Marketing Approvals application.
An email is sent to the user who submitted the approval request, notifying them whether the campaign was approved or rejected.
Workflow for Business Objects
The approval workflow allows you to set up an approval process on business objects such as Campaign, Target Group, Marketing Plan, and Program.
To use approval workflows, you must first choose the business objects you want to activate. In the Manage Your Solution app, select to Configure Your Solution and then General Settings. On the Activate Workflow for Business Objects step, select Configure. Then, select the Active checkbox next to the business objects you want to use in your approval workflow.
You also need to define the email receiver addresses for test systems.
Then, using the Manage Workflows app, you can define the conditions under which an approval is required, and who approves the requests.
Once you have defined the conditions and approvers, the approval process is enabled. For example, if you activate workflow for Campaigns, you can submit an approval request for a campaign.
In the Marketing Approvals app, you can view and process approval requests for business objects by, for example, approving or rejecting requests, forwarding them to another approver, or suspending them until a later date. For more information about approval requests, please check out this documentation.
