Introducing Website Manager Laura's Typical Tasks

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to identify SmartEdit functionality that supports the typical tasks of a Web Content manager

Managing the Webstore

Laura is responsible for creating a rich and engaging customer experience by managing the content displayed on the company’s customer-facing storefront. She uses SmartEdit, a UI that provides a truly WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editing experience, displaying changes as she makes them.

Using SmartEdit, Laura will be able to do the following:

  • Create, modify, and delete pages based on existing templates
  • Support marketing or merchandizing initiatives by inserting content on the site’s pages, for instance banners or product carousels
  • Modify content appearing on multiple pages, or only a specific page
  • Customize content depending on the device used to view the site, for example, a tablet or a cellphone
  • Modify the links available on the page, for instance the navigation bar or the user account menu
  • Personalize the site for customers based on the content being viewed or user segmentation
