In the previous lessons, we learned about the consumption-based planning methods and saw that you can use the MRP type in the material master record to determine the planning method of a material.
Now we want to start a planning run for a consumption-based planned material and analyze the results. This will introduce us to the different steps of a planning run.
Watch the following demo to learn how to execute a planning run for a single material and analyze the results.
In the demo, we got an idea of what happens during a planning run: the system reacted to a shortage and created a purchase requisition with a specific quantity and delivery date, and also found a suitable supplier.
Now let's have Julia, our virtual trainer, walk us through the steps of the planning run.
The previous video introduces the main processes involved in a planning run, including net requirements calculation, lot size calculation, scheduling, procurement proposal determination, and exception message generation.
In the next lessons, we will take a closer look at the main planning steps and the control parameters that are available.
