Adding a New Navigation Node in SAP Commerce Cloud

Hi there. My name is Adam. In this video, I'm going to show you how to add a navigation node using Smart Edit. After logging in, I'll select a site that I'd like to add a navigation node to. Then click on Navigation Management. I'll expand the site root node and navigate to the section. I want to add the new navigation node to. I'm interested in power supplies category. When I click the more button, which are the three dots on the right hand side, it gives me some options. I could add the new navigation node as a child so that it would become a sub node, a power supplies, or I could add it as a sibling meeting on the same level as power supplies. I'll select add a child type in battery chargers as the name of the node in the menu item editor, and also fill in the title field. Now let's add an entry to the node. This determines what happens when a user clicks on the node. For that, I need to create a new entry that refers to the product category. Battery chargers from the electronics product catalog. I will type battery chargers in the entry field and then click create in the CMS Navigation entry editor. I'll type Battery Chargers Link component in the component field and then click Create. Next I need to select the component type. Since I want to create a navigation node I'll select link. In the link name field. I'll enter battery chargers and in the link two section I'll choose category from the dropdown. A new dropdown list will show up. I'll select Battery Chargers and then click save. And we'll also click save in the other editors as well. All we need to do now is to sync the catalog versions and refresh the storefront. So let's do that. Let's navigate back to the start page. Click the sync button and refresh the storefront. Now when I hover the mouse over power supplies, the new navigation node is displayed. Let's click it. And here we are. The page displays battery chargers only. This is the end of this tutorial. Thank you for watching.
