Adding a Personalization to a Page in SAP Commerce Cloud

Hello, my name is Adam and in this video I'll show you how to set up a personalized page in Smart Edit. A personalized page is a page that looks different for a specific customer segment than for others. First, I'll log in to Smart Edit using my admin credentials. Now I'll pick a site, a catalog version, and a page. Let's go and edit the home page. I went to replace the big camera banner with a banner that advertises a revolutionary flash drive. If the customer navigating the site belongs to the Flash Lovers segment of my customers, to do that, I'll switch to the personalization view. I'll click on library and select Create New Customization from the dropdown. Now I'll enter a name and keep the status configuration activated. That enables the new customization right away. Next. Now I'll define the parameters of the customization by clicking Add Target Group. Entering a name and selecting the Flash Lovers segment. I created this segment earlier. You can see in another how to video, how to create a new user segment, and how to attach users to it. I'll click on add to confirm the customization parameters and save at the top left of the page. I'll click on the customization icon in the dropdown that appears. I'll set the first filter by setting it to all customizations. I'll click the arrow next to the flash drive lover customization to see the target group I just created. I'll select it and now I will hover over the banner that I want to replace and click the plus button from the action dropdown. I could select replace Master Component creating new one, but I added a fitting banner earlier. So I'm going to reuse it here. To do so I'll select Replace Master Component with another saved component, and I'll type in the name. For the component I want to display the Vinci's Flash drive. Let's pretend Leonardo da Vinci invented a flash drive and I'm selling it. I'll click save and synchronize the site. Let's check what I've done in the storefront. Notice that I'm not logged in, and therefore the regular banner is displayed. If I log in as a customer who is not particularly fond of flash drives, the standard banner is still visible. If instead I log in as a customer who belongs to the Flash Lover user segment, you'll see that the standard banner has been replaced by Davinci's Flash Drive banner. This is the end of this tutorial. Thanks for watching.
