Adding Ad-Hoc Approver to the Purchase Order Workflow in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Hello everyone, welcome to this Microlearning session on ability to add Ad-Hoc approvals to the purchase order workflow in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. In this session, we will cover a brief overview of the feature, walk through a system demo and show resources for further learning. My name is Ashish and I'm part of Cloud ERP Product Success team based out of Prague. So let's dive in. In SAP S/4HANA, procurement workflows are designed to be flexible and responsive. The ability to add ad hoc approvers during the purchase order approval process is a key enhancement. This feature addresses real -world scenarios such as urgent purchases, compliance checks, and stakeholder involvement. It ensures that critical decisions are not delayed due to missing approvers and allows users to dynamically include additional reviewers as needed. Users who have business catalog mentioned here in the slide are only authorized to add new Ad-Hoc steps. Let's take a look at how this works in the system. In this demo, we will walk through the steps to add ad hoc approval to the purchase order workflow. All right so let's start with the demo here we are in our demo system. I'll click on manage purchase orders. I have already created a sample purchase order for the demo. I'll go to the purchase order, open that, then click on approval details. Click on edit. Click on Create. Here you can give the name of your approval step. Status type as Release of Purchase Order. Scroll down. Under recipients under assignments by select User. Click on users tab. Search for the user that you want to add to the approval workflow. Scroll down further. Click on Create. Now your step is added to the workflow. Click on Save. The workflow is now updated and saved in your purchase order. We will just go back to the purchase order and see if it reflects correctly or not. And there you go, your step is already added.
