Adding Search in SAP Sales and Service Cloud

In part 16, we're going to take a look at how we can add a search feature to our solution.  So we want to have a feature that we can have a search for seminars.  And we search by a basic search for advanced search. We do have a proper filtering on our solution and is a session.  So in the last session we learned how to do so. Any day this session we want to further improve here and a find icon so that we can have a search of a can search or a table and other. Interesting. So let's go to the UI designer and add our search.  Here we opens our W all. And the first thing is what we need to do is to click here in advance to get our search window. Yes. You want to assign a find form here. So then the only thing we need to do is actually to put some search fields here.  But we cannot just drag and drop our fields. What we need to do is we need to go to our controller,  to our query, because that's where we have the queries  and to searches go here to our query by elements.  And here we can add now certain fields that we want to have search.  For example the name. For example the description,  maybe even the seminar start date  or also event for the teacher. But let's keep it with these three for now. So then the next thing is we need to do  we need to create in the search parameters that were created when creating the find form.  Also some data model fields. Let's also add three here. And now we need to bind these to our query. So let's go back to our query. Here we can select a value in the query for the name.  Just select the first field here. Then the description. We select this field here. And then the seminar started. We select the last field here okay. So now we have bound these to our search parameters that are used in our find form.  And these we can drag and drop in this area of the find form. So let's open here the bio model.  Go to the data model. And here you can drag and drop from the search parameters area. Here you can drag and drop these fields. Let's start with the name.  Then let's take the description.  And then take the seminar date. Unfortunately they are not nicely named. So here let's give some quickly a name.  So let's name this here name.  Okay. This here is a description.  And the last one is our date.  Okay. So now here is the name. We should, also make this section group here. Maybe not a section group, but also rename so nicely.  Call it search parameters or search.  Search. Okay. And let's save and activate. And let's try this out now in the front end how this looks already.  So now here is the front. And we have two more I consider new. So if you have this search icon here and we also have this filter icon here.  So by clicking the search I could just search. But let's start with a filter here. For example if I enter now German Star I only get a German lesson here.  Or if I search for Star seminar star,  I get all the one set of seminar is in here. Now I could also filter as a date. So you see here there for date here.  And I could say I want to have all the seminars that that's I hope my start date has started on the 11th of February. Let's see if this works and when you only get that. So you see, we have now provided a search for search fields here.  And that query. Nice. We can restore here have this basically okay. Now we also have this basic search here that we can also bind to field. We didn't do that yet. We do this now and bind it to the name so that we can quickly search just for this field by as a name.  So let's go back to the UI designer.  Well, let's say different. We don't have the name but the ID in this and special search.  So I go back to my controller, I go to my query,  I again select here and here's the seminar ID.  So I put the seminar ID down. Now here and now I bind to seminar ID here to this search text. This search text is reserved for this one field search basically. So wherever I bind this tool then it will be used for this one field search. Let me do that. And so that we can also see the ID actually because we only work with the Uuid here.  We will just do it here and drag and drop quickly. Also the ID field so that we actually see also a seminar ID here.  Then it's a bit more easy to see. Okay, let me save and activate that. And let's check out how the basic search is not working.  So here we're back. Now we have the seminar ID here. And if I go now here to the search and for example search for two,  I will only get to seminar. So what else we have here. Seminar eight  okay. Let's also search for that. So you see we have now this basic search here that is bound to the seminar ID field.  And we have several search fields that are bound to other fields here.  This we could not make nicer add more fields here. Groups them a little bit. Basically maybe able to use a name instead of a seminar ID here for the one field search.  But that's now, more to do basically.  Okay. But we are not finished yet because we would like to have the possibility to save our own searches here. And for that, we need to do a few more steps that I'm going to show now.  So let's go back to the UI designer and make our search even better.  In order to save our own queries, we need to add two anchors. Actually to the UI. So one we need to add here to find form 19 and define form. But we need to go here to the advanced list pane. And here we have a default set mapping. And to this default mapping which is shown here. All the seminars we need to add an anchor. Anchors are used so that users can personalize and save things.  So I add an anchor here.  And I need to add another anchor which is at the query level. So I need to go to the controller to the query.  And here I also have an anchor. And I just need to also create an anchor. And that's it basically. So let me save and activate that.  And let's go back here to our front end. So now we can store our own query. So when I filter here for example  German okay. When you get to German I can save exactly this search that I want to have.  So I can go to save query as  in German seminars. I could also set it as a default. I save this one and now what I can see is now I can have here query stored.  That is all seminars or only the German seminars.  And this way I can personally as a user my own queries and I can do my own searches here, which is quite powerful and very nice.  I can also go back here and organize the queries and configure versus the query should be the default query always  or I would like to remove it or to save it temporary.  And this is a way I can really personalize that  and store all this personalization. And I think it's quite a nice feature. So we said our search is complete. We have a single search field here. We have the advanced filter. And we can also organize our queries. And users can save select queries. And that was it about making a search for our  own user interface here.
