Approving or Denying Supplier Requests in SAP Ariba Supplier Management

In this video, you'll watch Joe, a category manager at NSM Global, approve and deny supplier requests. Hi, I'm Joe. In this scenario, I'll approve a supplier request. First, I'll choose Manage > My Tasks on the dashboard. Next, I'll locate the supplier request I want to work with, choose the associated approval task, and select View Task Details. Alternatively, approvers can select Approve or Deny to view the task details. On the approval task details page, I'll review the information in the supplier request. If the option is available, I can edit the supplier request to add missing details, correct mistakes, or supply information that only approvers can provide before approving the request. At this point, I have three options: approve the request, deny the request, or request additional information from the requester. Requesting additional information is only available in internal supplier requests. I have no objections to the supplier request, so I'll approve it. Entering a reason for approval is optional, but I'll enter a comment before confirming my approval. Any comments that approvers enter during approval are added to the supplier request details page. I'll exit the details page. In this scenario, I'll deny a supplier request. From the My Tasks area, I'll find the supplier request I want to work with, choose the associated approval task, and open the approval task details page. SAP Ariba has identified a potential duplicate supplier, so I'll choose See duplicates. After reviewing the potential match, I've determined that this supplier already exists in the NSM Global site, so I'll deny the request. Entering a reason for denial is required, so I'll input a comment before confirming my denial. Any comments that approvers enter during denial are added to the supplier request details page. I'll exit the details page. You've now learned how approvers approve and deny supplier requests in SAP Ariba Supplier Management. Thanks for watching.
