Configuring Multiple Languages in SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management

Hello, and welcome. In this video, I'll show you how to use multiple languages in SAP SuccessFactors, Incentive Management. We'll cover how to enable multiple languages and how to customise field names for each language. I'll also show you how to set up a multi language document in Plan Communicator. Let's look at an example. SmartLogic is a multinational corporation that does business throughout the Americas. As a result, all plan data should be accurate for English, Spanish and Portuguese speaking administrators. This means any customised field names must be accurate in all three languages. SmartLogic also sends out a compensation plan document to the entire sales team once a year. Each recipient should receive their document in their preferred language. It's important that these documents are worded in a way that is culturally appropriate for each locale. Therefore, a simple translation is not sufficient. I'll start by enabling multiple locales for custom field labels. I'll start from the Preferences menu. I'll select System Preferences. Then I'll select Language Support. In the Locales list, I'll select all the locales for which I want to add languages. Then I'll save these changes. Now, let's see how adding these locales changes my options for custom labels. From the Preferences menu, I'll select Customizations. From the Locales menu, I'll select Spanish (Mexico). Now, from the Organization menu, I can already see that the attribute names and display names have changed to Spanish. However, there's one more thing I can do here. I can further customize each field label individually for each language. Take a look at this field, which represents a generic attribute. We've already activated the field, so the users can see it in the participants workspace. However, we need to change the label so it displays the right information for all users. Let's add this text. Now, I'll save the customization. Now, any user who has their browser language set to this language will see the correct label on the field. Now, let's move on to another multi language feature in Incentive Management: distribution correspondence. SmartLogic uses plan communicator to distribute compensation plan documents to their sales force. The English language document has already been created. SmartLogic would now like to create locale-appropriate documents for their users in Mexico. To enable these locales for document distribution, we'll go back to System Preferences, again, selecting Language Support. Under System Multi Language Options, we'll select Spanish (Mexico), then select Add. Then I'll select Save. Now, I'll go to the next tab, Communicator Configuration, to enable multilanguage support. I'll set Mexican Spanish as my preferred language. Again, I'll select Save. Now, when I create a new document, I'm prompted to select the locale. I can insert a different document text for each locale, so each recipient gets the correct one. I'll add a document for Spanish (Mexico). I can now select the new language tab and add the appropriate text. How do we know what each recipient's preferred language is? Once you've set up multiple languages, you can select their preferred language in the participant record. Because Incentive Management is a fully cloud based system, it will automatically recognise the language based on the settings in the browser. Therefore, there's no need for each user to select their preferred language. In this video, we showed how to configure multiple languages in SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management. We added two languages over three locales to customise field labels, showed how to create distribution documents in multiple languages, and set a participant's preferred language.
