Configuring Webhooks for CIAM for B2B in SAP Customer Data Cloud

In this video,  you will see how to configure Webhooks  in SAP Customer Identity  and Access Management for B2B,  or CIAM for B2B.  Let’s start with the Events supported by CIAM for B2B.  All the Events supported by CIAM for B2C  are also available in CIAM for B2B.   In addition, to support B2B scenarios,  additional event types are only in CIAM for B2B.  In addition to the steps required to configure  a Webhook for an Account event type Organization Webhooks need additional configuration in the Organization Management Console.  Let's see the configuration in action.    CIAM for B2B must be enabled  in your SAP Customer Data Cloud tenant,  in order to perform this demo.   For this demo,  we will use a B2B company site  which is already activated  for Organizational Management.  To setup a Webhook for a CIAM for B2B site,  you must first enable  the “Allow External Integration” check box  for your B2B site  in the Organization Management Console.   First click on Organization Management  in the CDC Console.   This opens the Organization Management Console.  To configure your Site,  you must click Manage at the Partner level.  This opens the Partner view.  Then click on Settings.  This will display all the sites enabled for that partner.   Select your site and open the details page.   As you can see,  “Allow External Integration”  is disabled by default.  To create Webhooks for an Organization event type,  this option must be enabled.   Edit the details page and  enable the Allow External Integration checkbox.  Then save your configuration.   Now, your B2B site is ready  to setup the Webhook.   Let's go back to the CDC Console.    The steps to setup an Organization Webhook  are the same as that for Accounts.   Go to the Site Settings page of your B2B site.   On the left panel, click on Webhooks.   Now click on Create Webhook.    Give a logical name to your B2B Webhook.    Add the Notification URL.   This URL points to the service,  which will notify this Webhook,  based on the events configured.   Keep the most recent version, 2.0.   For this Webhook,  you can select events  from Accounts and Organization.    For this demo,  we will select Organization Events.    To keep the webhook simple,  we will not add any additional details  and just Create the new Webhook.   Our new webhook is now displayed  on the Webhook’s page.   To understand the other available options on the page,  refer to Webhooks in the documentation.    To test our webhook,  we need an Approval Workflow.  For that, let's go back to the Organization Management Console.  Once again, click on Manage at the partner level.   Then click on Settings  and select your B2B website.    Now click on Approvals  to define an approval process.    First, set the path to b2bApproval.    Then add steps.  A B2B approval workflow would have many steps. For this demo, let's create a step to call the webhook  we created in the CDC Console.   Let's call this step externalApproval.    Select the Remote System tab  to select our Webhook.  The webhook is now linked to this flow.   Click Apply  and Save the Approval Process.  The Approval Workflow now has a step  that calls the webhook,  which in turn notifies an external service.    This concludes the steps for setting up a Webhook in CIAM for B2B.  Thank you for learning with us.
