Configuring Widget Settings in Backoffice Framework in SAP Commerce Cloud

Hi, my name is Lily. In this video, I'll demonstrate how to change settings of a widget instance. I'll show you how to change settings that modify the appearance of the advanced search toolbar and the new search criteria. Changing the settings is straightforward. To demonstrate this, I'll use an example from the back office application. Remember that you can use the standard widgets library documentation to see more details about a widget, including its available settings and a description of each setting. First, I'll log in to back office. Then I'll navigate to the product search page. At the top you can see the Advanced Search toolbar and that we have the possibility to add new search criteria. I'll demonstrate how to change settings that modify the appearance of the Advanced Search toolbar and the new search criteria. To start, I'll switch to orchestrator. I'll click on the settings icon to open the settings for the Advanced Search widget instances. I want to hide the Advanced Search toolbar. To do this, the Disable Advanced Search toolbar setting needs to be changed to true. I'm also going to change the position of the Add New Criteria row. As we saw before we switch to orchestrator, the Add New Criteria row is currently displayed as a header. I'll change its position to the bottom. To do this I'll change the ad row position setting to bottom. To see the changes, I'll exit orchestrator. As you can see now, the widget instance has a different appearance. There's no longer an advanced search toolbar, and the place where new search criteria is added has moved to the bottom of the page. I'll change some more settings of the Advanced Search widget so that you can see what happens. To do this, I'll go back into orchestrator and open the same widgets settings. Now I want to revoke the users ability to change the operator attribute. This is accomplished by changing the disable attribute comparator setting. I'm also going to take away the ability for the user to change the order of the displayed search criteria by setting disable sort order to true. Now that I've made the setting changes, I'll exit orchestrator. As you can see, the widget has even more appearance changes from before. The ability for the user to change the default comparator settings for each attribute has been disabled, and there's no option to change the sort order for the search criteria. Thanks for watching.
