Consuming Iflows for the Data Migration from SAP Business ByDesign to SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Hello and welcome to our microlearning session on technical data migration from SAP Business ByDesign to SAP S/4HANA Cloud. As part of the Cloud Migration Factory offered by SAP Cloud ERP team, we have produced a series of sessions to enable you with the technical data migration from source ERP system to SAP S/4HANA Cloud. In this chapter, I will demonstrate how the standardized flows delivered by SAP for data transformation can be consumed by our partners or customers. Agenda for the session is as follows. First, I will provide you an overview of the consumption of SAP-delivered standard iflows. Then we will jump into the system to demonstrate the same. At the end, we will see where we are in the learning journey and what's next. My name is Babu Lal Limba, and I am a customer engagement manager in SAP customer and partner care team of cloud ERP unit at SAP. And I am based out of Bangalore. So let's get started with the overview. To consume the iflows, you should have completed the preparation as mentioned in the previous chapter, that is preparation for data migration. You have a BTP account, which is subscribed to the service of integration suite. You have downloaded the iflows delivered by SAP on your local machine. You have the data extracted from Business ByDesign. You are ready with an application to send HTTPS requests like Postman to trigger the iflow. First, we will load the iflow files in the integration suite system and deploy it. This will generate an endpoint for consuming the iflow from external application. We shall then trigger the iflow by passing the data load that needs to be transformed using the external application. And finally, we receive the response file which is upload ready for SAP S/4HANA Cloud. We can then take this file into the SAP S/4HANA Cloud migration cockpit to push the data into the system. Let me now demonstrate how the standard iflows can be consumed for data transformation. I will take a simple example of an object customer. SAP has delivered an iflow for mapping the customer object data fields from SAP Business ByDesign to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition data fields. Let's jump into the system and see how to consume the iflow. First, let me show you the data file from Business ByDesign that we need to transform. This is the data from Business ByDesign in the XML form that we want to transform to S/4. These are five customers with some data like address, contacts, bank data, payment data, sales data, etc. Now let's go into the integration suite system and navigate to design integration and APIs. Let's create a package in this. And save the package. Once the package is saved, go to the artifacts and add an artifact called Integration Flow. Here you select the file that you have previously downloaded as iflow in your local machine. So I will use customer iflow object. Then click on add. and the iflow would be then created in your Integration Suite system. Open the iflow by double-clicking on it and here you see the iflow. The iflow is accepting the message, the data from external sender via HTTPS connection. Edit the iflow, select the HTTPS connection and provide an address so that this can be triggered from an external system. So the address is customer end-to-end that is mentioned over here. So let me keep it like this. Save the iflow and once the iflow is saved, we will deploy it. Click on the deploy button and wait for the success message to come. So iflow is triggered for deployment. So iflow is deployed successfully. Once the iflow is deployed successfully, go to monitor integration and APIs. And check for the integration content. Here you can see this is the iflow that was started and you can see there is an endpoint that is generated over here. Copy this endpoint so that this could be triggered from an external system. Now open your application like Postman where you could trigger this iflow. I will now create a request which should be a post request. Copy paste the URL that we had and name the request as customeriflow. Save it. Provide the authorization. So I will provide basic authorization. And then go to the body, select binary and select the ByD data file that you need to transform. It's a zip file. Save and let's send this data to iflow. You have got a successful response. Save the response file. And let me now show you how the response file looks like. So, this is finally a S/4 file that is generated out of the iflow. So, all the five customers are transformed into S/4 migration template form over here. You can see the data is populated into various tabs that are required. This file is now upload ready into S/4HANA Migration Cockpit. With that, I come to the end of the demo. In this session, we have covered how the standard
