Creating a Coupon-Based Promotion in SAP Commerce Cloud

Hello, my name is Elif. In this video, I'll show you how to create a coupon based promotion in the back office administration cockpit in the planning phase of my campaign. I already created the coupon that will be used as a condition in the promotion rule. The next step now is to create the promotion rule in the exploratory area. I'll get to the marketing area and select promotion rules. As you can see, a list of available promotion rules appears. I'll click the create a new Promotion Rule button and enter an appropriate code for my promotion rule. This code has to be unique and may contain letters, numbers, and special signs. Now I'll enter a name that describes my promotion rules, like get a free gift by buying a handheld camcorder by clicking done. The promotion rule will be added automatically to the list to continue editing the new promotion rule. I'll click on it in the Rule Properties tab under Rule Management. I'll add the website name where the promotion rules should be applied, and the rule group. In the Condition and Actions step. I'll define the structure of the coupon based promotion rule. So I'll drag and drop the coupon code condition from the available conditions. Note that a promotion cannot be activated without a condition. Next, I'll expand the coupon code condition and click in the qualifying coupon field from the list of available coupons. I'll pick the one I had created before the start of this video. Then I'll go to the action section and select Free Gift from the available actions. I'll expand it, add the catalog version. And in the free product field, I'll look for the product that I'd like to give away by typing in the product name. Finally, I'll make sure that the quantity field is filled. Then I'll save my changes and publish my new promotion rule by selecting the promotion module option. Now let's go to the electronic storefront and test the new promotion rule. I'll navigate to the Handheld camcorders section. Select one product from the result list and checkout by entering the coupon code and clicking the apply button. I can see the gift product I selected in the back of his administration cockpit. That's all for now.
