Creating a New Promotion Rule in SAP Commerce Cloud

Hello. In this video, I'll show you how to create a promotion rule using the back office administration cockpit. Let's navigate to marketing and select promotion rules. And then I'll click on the plus icon and enter a code and the name in the Create New Promotion Rule Wizard. For example DC underscore discount for the code and DC percentage discount for the name. After the new promotion rule has been created, I'll click on it in the list and complete the rule management area. That means I'll select the website or in this case the apparel UK website and enter a priority. A rule with a priority of 500 will be executed before a rule with a priority of 100. Then I'll save the changes. Now let's switch to the Conditions and Actions tab. Under conditions, I'll add the condition named qualifying categories and type DC into the categories field. Note that there are other condition types that you can also apply for your promotion. For example, a single called coupon to learn how it works. Check out the video on how to create a single called coupon. Back to my promotion rule under actions I I'll add percentage discount on products and enter ten in the Percentage Discount Value field. This will grant a 10% discount on all DC products at the top of the page. We can add a promotion text in order to make this message user friendly. I'll add a short promotion description. I'll refer to the applicable products for this promotion and the discount by using the YouTube ID that is the universal unique identifier. To do this, I'll just click on the tooltip above the component. For example the percentage discount value. Then select it and copy the Uuid into the message field between curly braces. This way I can later reuse this promotion by just copying it and applying new values. Once I've saved the changes, I'll publish the promotion rule by clicking on the button called Publish Promotion Rule for module in the wizard that appears, I'll select the promotion module called Promotions Module and then click okay to confirm that the promotion rule is working. I'll navigate to the storefront and add a pair of DC trousers to the cart. Look, the 10% discount is now applied. Thank you for watching.
