Creating a Personalized Email in Content Studio in SAP Marketing Cloud

Hello, In this video, you’ll learn how to create and personalize your E-mail.  Let's open the Content Studio app.  In the Recent Content area, you can see the content that you’ve recently created  and changed and all the content you have viewed, regardless of who created it.  Go to All Content to navigate to the overview page.  Choose the E-mail to see and edit the content.   If you want to create new content, select the content type you want to create.  Use the In-App-Help to get information about different content types.  To create an email, choose Email from the dropdown and fill in the information needed.  Choose blank content if you want to start from scratch or select the template you want.  This is the email editor where you can design and configure your email settings based on your business needs.  The email editor has a column-based responsive layout,  which reacts to the different screen sizes of the devices.  Let’s look at the toolbox you’ll need when you design an email.  In the Content area, you can find the predefined and single-column-separated layouts and blocks.  Using these layouts and blocks, you can easily design your email.  Go to Reusable Content and add a reusable block such as a header and footer from here.  On the Conditions tab, you can create and define conditions  required for the email subject, preview text, and columns.  Please feel free to explore more features here,  such as Grid view, Undo, Redo, Source code with HTML  and Custom CSS, Preview, and Language.  To learn more about each feature, please check our Help portal documentation.  Let’s go back to Content.  To start, select a layout and drag and drop it on the layout.  Then fill in the content of your email with blocks such as  Text, Button, HTML, Image, Divider, and more.  You can also drag and drop a block directly without inserting a layout.  You can design your email by simply dragging and dropping and moving up and down.  You can also duplicate and delete blocks.  Next, let’s define a subject.  You can add text and emojis and use personalization attributes.  Make the subject line as personal as possible,  and it’ll increase the opening rate of your email.  Adding the preview text will further increase the chance that your email will be opened.  Once done, let’s collapse the section to maximize the design area.  To add a background color or further page properties,  click on the border of the email and the Properties panel will open on your right side.  Define the settings based on your needs.  Next, select the row or column borders.  Change the background color or spacing for the selected block in the Properties panel.  Let’s add the image now.  Select the image block, and you’ll see the Image Properties panel on the right side.  Add the URL of the image or choose the image from the content storage.  Adjust the size of the image.  You can also add a link to the image.  You can also group different blocks.  Select the first row you want to group,  and then press and hold the CTRL or SHIFT key  and select the other row.  Click on the grouping icon on the right panel.  Now they’re grouped together.  In general, when you drag and drop a block on the page,  the property panel changes into the context of the block you chose.  Feel free to use the Pin icon to fix the panel and prevent it from switching to the property panel.  It will help you design your email faster.  If you have good HTML knowledge,  you can apply custom CSS code to your emails for various elements  at a column and line level.  If you use custom CSS, always make sure to check the standards from Cascading Style Sheets.  Select the Source Code icon in the header toolbar  and choose Custom CSS.  Then the Custom CSS window opens.  You can also drag and drop the HTML block  and write the code directly.  Once you’re done, save it.  Choose Save As if you want to duplicate this email  or save it as a template for reusing this content in the future.  Here is an example of a completed email.  It includes all the parts of an email that you’ve just learned,  so you can see what the finished email can look like.  You now understand the procedures needed to create an email  using the Content Studio with the toolbar functions and drag-and-drop layouts.
