Creating Activity Indicators in SAP Customer Data Platform

In this demo, we'll walk you through the activity indicator features of SAP CDP. We are going to create two new activity indicators and then see how they work in action. When ingesting event data from a source application. In the CDP console, hover your mouse over the hamburger button on the top left corner and click on the indicators menu under the customers section at the top right corner. Click on the Create New Activity Indicator button, and in the pop up window, select the Activity Book view to be used for this indicator. In the new indicator window. We will enter the name Total Drama Book Views and optionally the description total number of Drama book views for the new indicator. Select an activity attributes or the whole activity by which to calculate the indicator by dragging and dropping it to the yellow square brackets in the calculation method box on the right side. For this demo, we'll select the new Activity book view itself. Choose the calculation method for this attribute or activity. Let's use the count method to count the total number for the activity. Choose the date range for the activity indicator. Evaluation and recalculation. For simplicity, we'll choose all time drag and drop one of the activity attributes like category ID in the activity schema to the blue dashed box in the condition criteria area to start building the activity indicator conditions. First select from the includes exclude dropdown to specify how you would like to define the condition. Let's use the default include option to include all the book view activities that match the below condition criteria. Then select the operator to apply and set the value for that operator. For this demo, we'll use the equals operator and set the value as drama. If you want to define other criteria like specifying the book view channels, just click on the plus and or plus or button to add more criteria. Otherwise, the condition is complete and the activity indicator can be saved by clicking on the safe button. Now let's see how the activity indicators work in action. Select search under the customers menu to see all the customer profiles in the CDP. In the view dropdown at the top left. You can choose between Unified Customer Profile and Contextual Profile to see different views of the customer profiles. For this demo, we'll use the Unified Customer Profile view to see the ingested customer data in the search box at the top right. Type a demo and you will find a customer named a demo. Frank. Click on the next button to see the full customer profile and view the new activity indicators on the customer profile screen. Click on the activities tab at the top to see the Customer activities information, along with the newly created indicators. Scroll down to the bottom and see the Activity Indicators section for the book View Activity schema. You see that three indicators are created and calculated for this customer. Click on the Book View Road to expand the three indicators. You can see the name and description of each activity indicator along with the calculated values. This completes the activity indicator demo.
