Creating Custom Stories in SAP Marketing Cloud

Hello and welcome to the Creating Custom Stories in the ACP marketing cloud video. In this video, I'll demonstrate how to create custom analytical stories. If the standard stories of SAP Marketing Cloud do not cover your use case, create new stories, or modify existing stories to gain a better insight into your organization's marketing performance and KPIs. Please be aware this video focuses on the embedded edition of SAP Analytics Cloud, which is automatically integrated with your SAP marketing cloud tenant. Open the set up your marketing solution application within SAP Marketing Cloud to check whether you're working within the new pre integrated version or the manually integrated SAP Analytics Cloud. In this video, first I'll provide an overview of the end to end creation process of custom marketing analytics stories. Second, I'll demonstrate how to create a custom marketing story. Third, I'll discuss how the item transportation communication from quality to products systems works in this context. Lastly, I'll describe how the assignment and launch of a marketing story works. The end to end process of a custom marketing story creation starts with accessing the application marketing custom stories. The application is the central point for all configuration when it comes to the marketing story management, including the creation process. Here we have the choice to either create a marketing custom story from scratch, or copy and modify existing stories. In both cases, we need to do our configuration, including the changes we are supposed to do. For configuration, we use the integrated SAP Analytics Cloud story Designer to add data sources based on CSS views. Designing controls or adding filters and charts. Activate the story and optionally create a custom application for an enhanced user access to our marketing data. When the configuration is complete, navigate to the Analytics and Report Gallery application to launch the story. If an application was created based on the story, we can also make sure to provide appropriate access coming from the SAP Fiori Launchpad. Launching the story from the Analytics and Report Gallery should be sufficient in a standard scenario, and is the preferred way to access this kind of data. Now I'll demonstrate how to create a custom marketing story in our quality marketing system. According to the process we have just seen, search for the marketing custom Stories app and open it. Within this application, we can see all the pre delivered and embedded analytical marketing stories that the solution offers out of the box. The tag marketing analytics labels the pre delivered stories beside the embedded stories. We are also able to see the standalone stories. Here you can select an existing story as a base and then further customize it for your business need. For this example, I'll select Spotlighting accounts. Click copy type custom spotlighting a customer in the name field, click copy. Here is a new story, which is a copy of a standard story. Click the configuration tab to modify the story visualization. Click edit to change to the editing view. This activates the edit mode. This allows me to edit various elements. Edit the data and visualization of this story. If you have used SAP Analytics Cloud before, you are already familiar with this interface. To edit an element, select it and click more. To review the different editing options, the toolbar allows you to create new elements, filter objects, or change the data model from different CSS views. Select the side panel element on the canvas and change the name to accounts. Next, switch to the designer view and select the first element on the canvas. Define the graphical representation of the selected element. In the designer mode, select the chart type donut to get another type of representation on the dashboard. Click activate to confirm changes by activating the custom story. It will be available in the Analytics and Report Gallery application. The central place for all our marketing analytics data. This was the end to end creation process and the marketing custom story creation in the system. Next, I'll focus on the transportation from quality to production systems and the assignment and launching of marketing stories. Transportation is an important step we need to take when it comes to the productive uses of the objects we've created. To see in detail how the transport management for SAP Marketing Cloud works. Please have a look at the onboarding guide explaining the preparations for productive use, or watch the Marketing Analytics Extensibility video part four. I'll quickly provide a system demonstration on the assignment and launching of the newly created marketing story. I'll make sure my role is analytics specialist and open the application Analytics and report gallery in the production system. I'll search for the story I just created by name, ID or another piece of information using the search function. It should be located under the unassigned domain section. Select the story and assign it to an information area using the assign function. Choose Marketing Data Analytics and confirm this setting. I just assign the story to an appropriate information area for an improved user access. A user in the role of a marketing expert can now easily access the story via the Analytics and Report gallery within the chosen domain section. Users can also navigate to the story via an application we have created before based on a story. In this video, I demonstrated how the end to end and custom story creation process looks like. I also discussed the topic of transportation for SAP Marketing Cloud, followed by the assignment and launch of our customer marketing story.
