Creating Reusable Blocks in Content Studio (Legacy Editor) in SAP Marketing Cloud

John is a marketing expert at Healthy Farm. He sends out a monthly newsletter to all healthy farm customers in various countries to save time in the future. John wants to create a reusable header and footer for the newsletter. It is written for the marketing area Europe and published in English and German. Within the email template. John selects the footer and creates a reusable block. John's footer contains the copyright and is language dependent. That means the content needs to be translated into several languages. The design view for the reusable block opens, and on the right John can see in which emails and email templates the reusable block is used. Under more, John could download the block content to translate it in an external system, but he translates it in SAP marketing cloud directly. John adds German as another language to the block. Then he selects copy from English. He can now see the English original in the German block and translate it straight away. Using the save as feature in the footer bar. John could also make his reusable block available for a different marketing area. Finally, John releases the reusable footer to make it available for all his colleagues in the same marketing area. Once John is back in the email template, he can no longer change the reusable block. Like this John also creates a reusable block for the header. The header contains the Healthy Farm logo, which is language independent. It does not need to be translated. Emily, John's intern, is working on an email template for a new product launch. Right now, Emily is looking for available reusable blocks she could use as a header and footer. Emily can only use reusable blocks that have the same settings as her email, such as the currently selected language, English, and the marketing area. Europe Emily finds John's header and footer and simply drags and drops them onto her email. Emily is ready to go. She can release the email and it can be used in campaign execution. With a new business year starting, John needs to adjust the copyright in the footer of his reusable block in Content Studio. John opens his reusable footer and updates the copyright. Afterwards. John sends a test email to check that the email template now contains the updated reusable block. If John doesn't like the updated reusable block, he can reject his revision and edit the block again, but he is happy with the result, so he releases the block. The new version of the block is now available for him and his colleagues in the Content Studio. Even in running campaigns, John's new reusable block will be used during execution. He repeats the update in all the reusable blocks he's created for different marketing areas. And that's how easy it is to create reusable content blocks in different languages that you can use again and again.
