Creating SAP Analytics Cloud Models and Stories in SAP Marketing Cloud

Welcome to part three of the Marketing Analytics Extensibility Video series. In part one and two, you learned how to create a custom CSS view and a custom analytical query. Beside using the view browser in the SAP marketing Cloud System. In this video, you'll learn how to create SAP analytics cloud models and stories within the SAP Analytics Cloud and finally make them available for the SAP Marketing Cloud. Let's get started. To log into the SAP Analytics Cloud environment, we have two steps. First, create a Saac model using the Live Data connection. Second, create a responsive Saac story using the created model. Note that the SAP marketing cloud provides the query running on our CDS view. This query will be picked up by a model in SAP Analytics Cloud, which ultimately leads in a story. The following steps describe the process of a manual. Integrated SAP analytics to marketing cloud scenario. If you have the embedded version available as communicated at the beginning of the video series, there's also a new app available called Marketing Custom Stories. With this application, you can walk through a process to simply define, configure, and activate stories based on data sources without leaving the SAP Marketing Cloud. The concept is the same, but you don't need to create objects within Saac. Feel free to simply copy existing stories within SAP Marketing Cloud via this app to modify them. Open SAP Analytics Cloud to create a Saac model using Live Data Connection. Click modeler. Then select Live Data Model to create a model based on a live data connection. Establishing a connection to our SAP marketing cloud. Select the System Type dropdown menu and choose the sap BW menu item. In the connection dropdown menu. Select the available SAP mQTT and W connection. Once you do so, SAC will create a direct connection to the SAP marketing Cloud data. The option is available once the SAP Marketing Cloud is integrated with the SAC. Click Data Source to search and select the loyalty demo query, which we prepared earlier in the marketing system. Confirm the settings to create our model according to our use case. Within the model. Make sure the dimensions and measures are available as expected. Remembering the query definition we did earlier in the marketing system. To save the model, click save on the top. It's recommended to save the created content in a well-structured, easy to find folder location. Now let's create a story based on the model we just created. This time, navigate to the stories menu item. We're free to choose how we would like to start our story. We can select different page types representing our story as a responsive dashboard. For example. Click the responsive icon to create a responsive story page. This supports mobile applications with different screen sizes. Working with our actual layout, which is represented in the next view, we can enter and define a title for our story. Click Insert Chart on the top. This opens a model selection dialog where you'll select the data source you want to include in your story dashboard. Let's choose the created loyalty status demo model for our scenario. Note that the designer view becomes active, where you can set the configuration and graphical representation of your model based story on the canvas. Select Add Measure and choose Loyalty Score to define the measure first. Select Add Dimension and choose Loyalty Stage to bring in some dimensional information. To complete our chart data definition. Navigate to more under Chart Structure and select the pie chart to enhance the user experience and show a better differentiation on how our loyalty KPI is distributed. Click file on the top to save the story. Using the save function. Assign the name and enter a description. Click okay to confirm. Well done. We have created our first story, which can be communicated and accessed via the SAP Analytics Cloud. The story is also available in the SAP Marketing Cloud System via the Analytics and Reports Gallery. Once we have created a sassy story, we need to give direct access to this story in the SAP marketing Cloud System. For this, it's important that the user has the new analytics specialist role assigned in the marketing cloud systems. Make sure that your created story in the SAP Analytics Cloud is located in one of the SAP provided content folders, which is available under My Files. Public SAP content. As this path is accessible for the marketing system in the Marketing Cloud system, open the mentioned Analytics report gallery app. Search for the new story which should appear in the unassigned domain section. Select it and assign it to the appropriate domain using the assign button. That's it. In this video, we describe the process of a manually integrated SAP Analytics to Marketing Cloud scenario. If you have the embedded version available, which we already mentioned a few times, there's a new app available called Marketing Custom Stories. Here you can walk through a process where you can simply define, configure, and activate stories based on data sources without leaving the SAP marketing cloud. The story selection and assignment for the access via the Analytics and Report Gallery is still the same. In this video, you learned how to create SAP analytics, cloud models and stories within the SAP Analytics Cloud and how to make them available for the SAP Marketing Cloud. In part four, you'll learn about data migration. Thanks for watching.
