Creating Sections, Requirements and Questions in SAP Ariba Sourcing Events

Today's video will look at creating event content such as sections, requirements, and questions. We will demonstrate creating these items within an RFP and show some of the answer types that are available within the system and end with an example of adding visibility conditions within content. First we will start with sections. Sections are used to organize information within the event. In this example there are three sections, Introduction, Commercial Terms, and Pricing. These sections were inherited from the standard RFP template that was selected. If I were to choose I can edit or remove them. In addition to any inherited sections, you can add your own, which is encouraged as sections make monitoring the event much easier. To add new sections, select Create and add the title and edit the position of the section if needed. Next, we will talk about requirements. Requirements allow you to include any required terms, conditions, or statements to the event that your suppliers will read but will not require a response. This could be information about your company, information about who to reach out to for questions, information about how to submit responses, or anything helpful that suppliers might need to know within the event. And next we have questions. Questions are used to solicit information from your suppliers. A question requires a response type that can be a text, a numeric value, a monetary value which is an amount and currency, a date, or a quantity, yes no, or even attachment. When creating questions, there are fields outside of response type that can be beneficial. The acceptable values can specify ranges for numerical values or create multiple choice options in text response types. When lists of choices are created, the options will need to be created by the project owner, towards the bottom, manually. Visible to participant is also a key field, as if yes, supplier participants will see this. Some items can be internal or project owner facing instead of supplier facing. Lastly, visibility conditions can be helpful to make questions or sections visible or invisible depending on the answer to a separate event question. If I were to have a Yes-No question in my event that was to drive visibility into other questions, I can create a new condition and reference my event questions. I can set a condition for the Yes or No Response option and apply them to questions or even sections within the event.
