Credit Management on Service Orders - SAP S/4HANA Service

Hello everyone. Welcome to microlearning. Today we will look at the first part of our credit check series. In our understanding credit check series today we will understand what Credit Check process is, when it is used and The master data that we're using to determine the credit check. Search field enhancements for credit check. And finally, customizing for credit check. I have my colleague Krishnan will take over from me here and explain about the credit check process.  Hope you  have a happy learning. The credit management is something a customer takes. Again, buys from a manufacturing company in a real business to business scenario, they won't make up-front payments like a business to customer use case here you make a payment upfront, buy your product. But in a business to business scenario, they'll always be a credit for a customer. until the time the customer reaches the credit, he can withhold payment. Normally payments are made in bulk ,  quarterly, half yearly, for example, a dealer, has got an agreement with the manufacturer. So the payment normally will be made, will be made in the periodic intervals, not in the regular interval as soon as they buy a product. but, In order to safeguard the company so that the payment, don't exceed,  impact beyond the limit that the company runs the risk of getting into losses We have this credit management functionality so that any customer there will be a credit limit that is set. like for example, customer A will have a credit limit of  $100,000$,  once his purchases go beyond, that is the amount of payment he is to give the original manufacturing company. goes beyond that limit than your Orders will no more be allowed. And there is a possibility still, even if the limit goes beyond the credit, controller can still approve it. Possible you can still bypass it. It doesn't mean that the Order can never be processed beyond the limit. But it has to go through a credit controller where he will review it and then he can approve the process. So as a first step normally when again in the business partner, there'll be a new role available where you are asked to maintain the credit limit? This is the new role. Here we can see UKM000. So this SAP Credit Management will be the role for a customer or a payer. So that credit check will always be against the payer. So this will be the role which will be used to set the credit limit for a customer. So I'm taking this example we have created for credit check. So this is the role. And then if you go to credit segment data again, you can see the limit defined for the customer. So this will be 100,000 for this customer. Credit exposure is something how much has been utilized so far out of a 100,000 this customer has already utilized about 2 333.21 dollars. So again, the rest is still available for the customer, still has got a buffer. So if the limit goes beyond, so this exposure, goes beyond under 100000, then the failure will start happening we have looked at the master data for credit check management so far. Now let us check in the Customer Manager role and in the Manage Service Orders app as to how this credit management functionality is utilized in transactional level. So here the UI has been extended with a new field credit status. So here it will check in fact as to how a credit check is for a particular transaction, so you can search with for service orders with all items, So it could be that in a service order ,some items are blocked and some other items are successful, again all items are released, which means all are successful, all items are pending credit checks, for the credit check only will trigger on release status, it will not trigger an open and in process. So when for Orders which are still in open and in process, it means all items in pending check. No item is credit check relevant. It means like credit check is an optional feature for a customer, means that not every customer is required to go in to it. No item is Credit check relevant means none of the items are required to pass through the credit check. Some items are credit block, which means a few items are blocked and a few items are successful. First step, let me show you the SSCUI that is the relevant for us to enable the credit management feature, the BPC expert role. So here there is a this SSCUI available activate credit management functionality for service transaction. here you can activate the transaction types which we want the customer wants to activate for credit management, as of now , in this release [2108CE] only contract  & service orders are relevant, so that's why you will leave only three of them. But in future there may be other transactions like in house repair and also may be quotations as well might be feasible. But for now, there are only three transactions. But customer has got the possibility  to activate or deactivate. So if you enables it, then check box is checked and the transaction will be relevant for credit check. So right now both our service orders and the service contract is enabled for credit check as you can see Thank you Krishnan for walking us through.
