Customization of Content Form Templates - SAP S/4HANA Finance

Hello and welcome to this microlearning for SAP S/4HANA Cloud for Finance. My name is Johannes Haselmayer and I work as a consultant in the S/4HANA Cloud MEE team. In this video, you will learn how to customize your content form templates in SAP S/4HANA Cloud using the Adobe LiveCycle Designer application. First, I want to explain the purpose of content form templates and why it might be necessary to customize these templates. After that, I will explain how you can customize  the content of your form template in SAP S/4HANA Cloud using Adobe LiveCycle Designer. For this, we will also have a look into the system together. Form templates are required for several  business scenarios. If you want to find out more about the necessity and purpose of form templates, please watch the microlearning referring to master form templates. As also explained there, form templates are usually divided into a layout and a content part. In the layout part, SAP S/4HANA Cloud allows  you to define a global layout which you will apply to all your billing, sales, or purchasing documents. For the content part, which we will be focusing on right now, the requirements differentiate for individual business applications. In some cases, the templates pre-delivered by SAP are not fully compliant with the customer's requirements. In case of any delta between the business  requirement and the pre-delivered form template from SAP, it is possible to create a custom form template with the application Adobe LiveCycle Designer. In case you need to customize your own form  template to adapt it to your specific business application, you can download the standard template for the business application, modify it to your business needs, and upload it into the system. After successfully uploading the form template, you need to assign the new form template to its respective output type. Furthermore, you can create business rules in order to define the usage of your custom form  in general. For the next part of this microlearning, let's move on to the system to customize the content of our own form template together. In this demo, we will add a field to the pre-delivered dunning notice template and display it in our S/4HANA Cloud system. For this purpose, I must download the pre-delivered template first, which I have filtered for already. After selecting the template, I can download and unzip the file locally. For the next step, I want to add a field to the pre-delivered template which I have just  downloaded. Therefore, I navigated to the Adobe LiveCycle  Designer and I have selected the downloaded template  already. In order to add fields to the pre-delivered  template, I will drag and drop them from the Data View tab on the left side to the Design View tab in the middle. From the Data View tab, I will drag the field DunningLevel and drop it to my form template right underneath the field "Dunning for account". Furthermore, I will maintain DunningLevel as a caption, and adapt the design of the caption to the other captions. After adding my field to the template, I save my changes to be ready to upload the customized template to the  system. To upload my customized template, I have navigated back to the cloud system to the Maintain Form Templates app. When I want to upload a new custom template, it is very important to choose the same data  source from the download of your template. On the Browse button, I search for the template which I have  customized in the Adobe LiveCycle Designer. After I have successfully uploaded my form  template, I can continue with the setup. For the next step, I will maintain my uploaded document as a form template for a dunning notice in the SSCUI Assign Form Templates. In order to do so, I click on New Entries, select my application object, and output type, Dunning Notice, and assign the form template which I have just uploaded to the system. In order to complete this step, I save my  changes. As I have completed this step, only one step is remaining until I can see my customized form template in  the system. Therefore, I have entered the Output Parameter Determination. This is the app where I can define which form template I want to use for the output type Dunning. I have already pre-selected the determination step form template in which I now define my output type. So I click on the plus sign. The output type will again be Dunning Notice. To select my uploaded template, I scroll to the right. And select YY1_DEMO. After activating this business rule, I can see in the next step if the customization of my form template has  worked. To see my newly added field, DunningLevel, I have navigated to the app My Dunning  Proposals. This app shows me overdue invoices for the respective customers. I now click on the icon beneath the column  Preview Notice. After the file has loaded, I can see my added field, Dunning Level, in my dunning notice template. This fulfills my requirements and concludes the system demo for the customization of content form templates. Let's summarize the key learnings. You have learned how to add a field to a pre-delivered content form template, modifying it with the Adobe LiveCycle Designer. Furthermore, you have learned how to apply your customized form template to its respective output type. Lastly, you have also learned how to use the Output Parameter
