Data Models Overview in Embedded Analytics for SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management

Hello my name is Cheryl, and welcome to Data Model Overview in embedded analytics for SAP Commissions. In this video we will review the Standard Data Models provided with embedded analytics for SAP Commissions. There are thirteen standard business models that are included in every SAP Commissions environment.  Each of these Data Models has a specific function within the solution. The Data Models are based on stages of the SAP Commissions pipeline.  Data Models are broken into two categories. Admin Only Data Models and Payee Data Models. The two Admin Only Data Models are Classified Transactions and Transactions. The Classified Transactions Data Model includes all classified transactions across all Payees. This model is based on fiscal periods and is meant exclusively for administrative use. As a recommended practice, stories using this model should not be shared with non-admins. Especially Payees, unless they are part of senior management such as a CFO or anyone else who has a business reason to get access. This model gives the Administrator a deeper view of classified transactions. The Transactions Data Model is the other Admin Only Data Model. This model includes all transactions across all Payees. The Transactions Data Model is based on gregorian periods and is meant exclusively for administrative use. Again, as a recommended practice, stories using this Data Model should not be shared with non-admins, unless they are part of senior management.  The Payee based Data Models are used to deliver payee specific data for stories. The Balances Data Model enables analysis of the Commission payment balances by Payee out-of-the-box. One example of a balance is any carry-forward payments that are calculated and owed to the Payee for periods that have been closed. The Balances Data Model utilizes the fiscal period type.    In the SAP Commissions pipeline, one of the first stages is to determine who gets credit for a transaction. The Credits Data Model contains the results of the crediting stage, and for each Payee it shows whether they got credit and how much credit they received. This model uses fiscal period type. Deposits is the next stage after credits, measurements and incentives have been calculated.  The Deposits data model includes the total commission earned for each payee in a period. This model uses the fiscal period type.  Incentives is the next stage after Measurements. The Incentives Data Model includes the rates for each of the items being measured in Measurements. For example, 2% for new customer sales or 1% for upsells. This model utilizes the fiscal period type. Measurements is the next stage after credits. The Measurements Data Model includes what a Payee is measured on. For example, new customer sales, goal attainment, renewals, upsells, and so on. This model utilizes the fiscal period type. The Payee Transactions Data Model enables analysis of transactions by Payee. Unlike the Transactions and Classified Transactions Data Models, this Data Model does not require a user to have Administrator privilege. All generics for transaction, payee, and position are included, as well as organization hierarchy and period hierarchy. The Payee Transactions Data Model supports both the fiscal period type and the gregorian period type. Though a Payee may earn commission in one period, it might not be paid until a later period. The payment to the Payee by period is tracked in the Payments Data Model. This model also uses the fiscal period type. The Commission Data Model includes commissions calculated for a Payee. And also uses the fiscal period type. This concludes this video.
