Defining URL Access and User Types in Embedded Analytics for SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management

Hi my name is Lily and in this video I'll define URL access and user types for embedded analytics for SAP Commissions.  When a customer receives access to embedded  analytics for SAP Commissions, the Tenant Administrator will receive an email containing four URLs.  Each URL is meant to be used for a different purpose, which I’ll discuss in this video. Other non tenant admin users for Analytics are granted access by the Tenant admin per their business need. The first is the I A S URL.  This provides the Tenant Administrator access to user profiles and authorizations. The main tasks related to Analytics in this workspace that only a Tenant Admin can do are:  Set up and create users. Set user permissions. Set up teams and user groups. Add other applications, and set up IS or external IDPs. There are many other tasks that can be accomplished in this URL that are not directly related to Analytics.  For further information please contact the SAP IDP Support team.  I’ll click User Management.  Then click “Add User” to create a new user.  For this example, I’ll complete the required fields and click Save.  User group, is where an Administrator grants Analytics access to the newly created user.   I’ll click Assign Groups to assign this new user access to embedded analytics for SAP Commissions.  I’ll click the checkbox next to APP SCAN.  This allows the user to access analytics for Commissions.  There are other applications listed here as well. For this video we are only focused on analytics. Then you can also assign permissions.  There are three types of user permissions in analytics for Commissions.  Administrator, Author and Viewer (also known as authenticated).  The administrator has all full system privileges in analytics.  Administrators can add new users, set permissions, create and share stories, customize copies of the stock public stories and create folders. An Author can only create, assign and share stories, but they can not set up new users or set up permissions.  They can not create or delete folders or stories. A Viewer is also known as an Authenticated user.   They can only view stories in analytics for Commissions.  A payee usually has viewer access. To provide a new user Viewer permissions. Select Authenticated_COMM-SCAN in addition to APP SCAN.  If you want to provide the new user Author permissions then select “Author Comm SCAN.” For this example, I’ll assign this new user as an Administrator.   The next URL is in regards to importing and synching users.   This is the Identity Provisioning Services (IPS) tenant, mainly used by Administrators.  COMM_Source_System – Customers can use this one to sync users from Commissions to IS. IAS_SAC_Source_System – This is used for syncing users from IS to analytics for Commissions.  These are created by default by the provisioning team when the environment gets handed over.  We just created a user in IAS.   Now, we’re going sync it to the embedded analytics application.  First I’ll click Jobs, then in the resync job field I’ll click Run Now.  Or you can Schedule a sync to run periodically. This is the jobs logs.  When the job sync runs, it will read everything that has changed, modified or is new in IS .  The duration of this action depends on how many changes were made in IS.   This states the number of items created in analytics.  Let’s review. The first URL is to create or import new users and set up permissions to analytics for Commissions.  The second URL is to sync the new users created.  The third URL is the actual embedded analytics for SAP Commissions solution environment.   I’ll log into embedded analytics for SAP Commissions.  This is the core application. Once customers log in whether it’s a Viewer, Author or Admin they can view their stories here.  A user can also view standard sample stories, or create a new story if they’re an Author or Admin. The fourth and final URL is in regards to the Team Optimizer  you can set up specific data security settings for users so that they can see the correct stories.    This is an admin only link. For more information please access the embedded analytics for SAP Commissions documentation portal. This concludes this video.
