Demonstrating the Execution of the Extension in SAP Sales Cloud with SAP BTP Kyma Runtime

In this part of the playlist, you will see the execution of the extension in a demo. In the demo, we will show how to open the log of the extension, how the extension is triggered and the output in the log of the extension. To access the log files of the Kyma function, we go to the menu entry pods under workloads. In the list, we click on the link of the replica set of the function. In the replica set, we scroll to the Containers section and click on View Logs for the function. The log of the function shows information about the function, errors during execution, and all information that is explicitly written into the log using the console log command. As the function was only started, the log shows information about the runtime and that the code was loaded. To show the execution of the function, we create a quote in SAP Sales Cloud. We navigate to Sales Quotes under menu Sales and click on the plus button to create a quote. We enter the document type ZKAG as referenced in the function and enter the account. In the product section, we click on Add and add product ID and quantity. We open the quote by clicking Save and Open. Now we go back to the log of the function in the Kyma dashboard. Here we see the output of the console log commands in the function showing the country of Origin and the response from the patch command on the SAP Sales Cloud quote. In SAP Sales Cloud, we do a refresh of the quote data to include the latest updates. In the Products tab, we open the details of item 10. In the Header section, we can see that the country of origin has been updated with the value United States from the S/4HANA Cloud system. This concludes this video and the video playlist.
