Examining a Promotion Rule in Backoffice Administration Cockpit in SAP Commerce Cloud

Hello, my name is Elif. In this video, let's take a brief look at the options you have in the back of his administration cockpit. When configuring a promotional promotion, rules can be found under marketing promotion rules. For the purpose of this video. It doesn't matter which promotion rule I select here. This one will offer a $20 discount if a customer card exceeds the value of $200. The details of a promotion rule are organized on three tabs Rule properties, Conditions and Actions, and Administration. First, let's take a look at the Rule Properties tab. On the top left you can see the code for this promotion. The code has to be unique and it can contain numbers, letters as well as special characters. Next to the code there is the name field. It contains a brief description of what the rule does. Please notice this status field. Only published rules are in effect to publish and deploy a rule. I can click to publish rule button and select the promotion module in which the rule should be deployed. Next to the status field is the version field. SAP Commerce Cloud can track changes to promotion rules via the versioning feature. When I create a new promotion rule, its version number is zero. It remains zero even after I publish it. However, once I make changes to an already published promotion rule and save it, a new version of the rule is created. It's number will be one. All my changes will go into the new rule, which is unpublished, while the old version remains functional. On the storefront. The website field determines for which of your available online stores the promotion rule applies. The priority is a numeric value. A rule with a higher number is executed before a rule with a lower number. The rule group field lets me specify a particular rule group which the current rule belongs to. I can also specify how many times this rule may be executed. For example, if I put two in there and the order value is still above $200, after applying the $20 discount, the rule would be executed one more time. Below that, the description field contains a more detailed account of what the rule does compared to the name field. I can also specify whether I want this rule to be excluded from showing on the star front. The Conditions and Actions tab holds all the information about when the promotion will fire, and what will happen once it does at the top of the page. You can see the message that is displayed for the customer on the storefront. It can be a plain text or contain universal, unique identifiers that refer to the conditions and actions of this promotion rule. Under conditions, I can drag and drop available conditions from the right to the center. When I expand the condition, I can edit its details. In this case, the condition is that the total cart value equals or exceeds $200. The question mark icon next to each component holds the respective universal unique identifier. As I said just now, you can use these universal unique identifiers in the message field about below. The conditions is the actions section. Here you can find the currently selected action in the center, and you can also add other actions from the available actions column on the right. In the administration tab, I'll find additional information about the selected promotion rule like metadata or changes. If you want to learn more about promotions, please check out the documentation under hub.sap.com or consider our other enablement offerings.
