Extending Your Website Structure with Navigation Management in SAP Commerce Cloud

Hello, my name is Elif, and in this video, I'll show you the main features of navigation management in Smart Edit. Let's take a closer look at the typical structure of a website, as it is shipped out of the box with SAP Commerce. After you have logged in, you can select the site and catalog version you are interested in. Now let's look into navigation management. First of all there is the root node. Under that there is a node for the website electronics. For example. Next there are four entries. You will find pages related to the user accounts such as personal details or payment information. Then there is the order note where you will find the import saved card feature. For example. Next the categories node. This is where you organize how customers will find the product pages. You can navigate by brand or by product category like digital cameras, film cameras, webcams, etc.. Last but not least, there is the footer node. Here you will usually find language and currency options as well as contact information. In a nutshell, with navigation management, you can edit, move, add and delete navigation nodes. Connect content pages with the navigation nodes. Edit properties of existing navigation nodes, and synchronize the navigation nodes to apply changes to the online catalog versions. and synchronize the navigation nodes to apply changes to the online catalog versions. If you want to add navigation nodes, you have the following three options. You can add a navigation node at the top level, and it is considered a route navigation node for the specific inflection point, such as a website or a mobile inflection point. Or you could add a new node as a child, making it a sub node of the selected navigation node. The third option is to add an education mode as a sibling, meaning you would add the node at the same level as the selected navigation node. When I open a navigation node window, I can change its name or title, as well as add new entries to the navigation node. Whenever you will make changes to the navigation structure, you can synchronize the staged with the online catalog version under signs. This wraps it up for navigation management. Thank you for watching.
