How to Adapt Changes in Business Role in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition

Hello and welcome to this microlearning for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition, How to Adapt Changes in Business Role. Myself,  Prabha Subbulakshmi Arumugam,  manufacturing product expert from product success and cloud co-innovation team. In this microlearning, I will explain you on how to adapt changes in business roles and make it in line with the upgraded business role templates. What is business role template? These are the predefined templates delivered by SAP, using which customers can create number of business roles as per their business needs. In every release of SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition, there will be modifications in the SAP Delivered Business Role templates. Some business catalogs used in the templates might be deprecated or new catalogs might be added. In that case, customers need to compare the self-created business rules with the SAP-delivered business rule templates and make the necessary changes in the business rules. Now, let's see the system demo on how to adapt changes in business rules. Log on to SAP system. Open the Fiori app business role templates. Filter with the value different from business roles. Then click on go. It displays the list of Templates that are modified and different from business roles. Select the Line Item Account Payable Accountant. In the next screen, it displays the business role created using this Template. Select the business role and click on Compare. It shows the list of business catalogs used in this template. In the left side column, it displays the business role template with the catalog status. This tick mark indicates that these catalogs are included in this template. If the catalog is deprecated or removed from the template, it will be written as not included. Here, the last three catalogs are added newly. Now, the user can decide whether to assign this catalog to the role or not. User can manually check the checkbox or as an alternative, he can use the apply all option to adapt changes to business roles. Once it is saved and the changes are adapted, user can see that the line item for accounts payable accountant is disappeared. Let's see another example where more than one business roles are created using the template. Select Administrator Template. Under Business roles tab, it lists all the business roles using this template. Select all the business roles and click on Compare. In the next screen, you can see all the business roles in the subsequent columns. Here, employee HR master data catalog has been deprecated and below one is not deprecated, but removed from this template. So, it is having status not included. To adapt these changes, click on Apply All. Checkboxes are tick marked for the business roles. Then click on save. Once it is saved, the business roles are updated and it will be in line with the upgraded business rule templates. For further learning, please refer the openSAP Courses and the SAP Learning Journey Portal.
